Practicality ruled over heart. But then after spending two days riding this machine, I must say that I am enjoying it. A decision well made.

Congratulations and Ride safe.

On Triumph vs Kawasaki, I will say this....the stock Triumph suspension for the Daytona as well as the Street Triple is definitely on the stiff side..and will require you to have it set up for your weight and liking...but on the plus side, the Triumphs handle like a dream out of the box. I am still running my Daytona with the way it came setup from the factory. Its definitely stiff and jars your spine if you go over a pot hole...but the handling is telepathic. The Kawasaki will definitely have a more plush ride compared to the Triumph. Very impressed with the range of Kawasaki's offering in India. Almost the entire portfolio is available. Top Marks to Kawasaki.
hehe...thank you bro. That small kid is my son who loves watching Marquez every single day. His day starts with bikes and ends with a Panigale in his arms when he sleeps at night. Thankfully, he shares the passion.

As regards to the handling observation, you are spot on. When I tried the Street, it was so much easy. In fact, the Street Triple was so comfortable and non-intimidating that I actually never felt that I was riding anything large. Unfortunately, it did not fit my preference. However, the entire world cannot be wrong when they say that the Street Triple is the best in the middle weight class.

Need some information from you as well. Are Puig products available on any e-commerce site? I tried several but seems that they do not stock all the parts that Puig offers. Any info on this?

Re: Kawasaki Z800 - Dream Comes True

Much thanks NV Sir to start up this thread ... as I was too lazy to key in my experience from past few weeks with the ride and every time I thought to get started, I knocked the laptop off to a side and hit out to road.. such was the rush . Much of that has been pretty well elaborated and touched upon in your posts so I am not going to make any ground breaking revelations.
So congratulations to you and to Satya too to start with ...

Yes.. I guess the numbers are increasing over in Pune.

I will definitely pitch in with my experience pre and post first service and the short rides that I have done so far.

Ride and Comfort :

Solo :

The bike feels heavy(by sheer size) at first look and it fairly is if one tries to maneuver it without firing it up. (Heavier than R1 or CBR Fireblade as per my exp of coarse) But the weight quickly sheds away as one moves. Ample power to pull you up in any gear to any speeds.
A lot has been put here already for the riding comfort, so not adding anything to it, however, there is a little rake in the bike hence, I personally tends to slip to the tank after a while. The seats slippery .. yes ..!!

With Pillion:

One of the biggest concerns I had while making the choice between Street Triple and Zee is the comfort and ease my pillion will have. The seats width is ample in all context and my pillion sits with good posture without grabbing on to any thing (including me... ) scared for her life. Also, we adjust after a while as the seats again, on a slippery side.

All these issues with the seat could only be coz of my riding dynamics. So not necessarily applies to all.

Road Presence and Exhaust Note:

The bikes absolutely looker as been preached earlier. Sharing a few pics that would justify every mean side of the machine. Dont have much to write about this and will let the images do the talking. The images are high res so might take time loading up...

The exhaust note is quite soothing and humming. Doesnt growl like a maniac ... unless U dont put in sme Akrapovic

Heres the link of a short video shot a few days ago. Suggest put on headphones to get a cleared sound.

Pre and Post First Service:

There is a noticeable difference in the smoothness by which the engine revs and the growl that it makes. As expected after the first service. The engine oil change was made and Motul 10W40 fully synthetic is been used by SNK Bajaj auth service center there in Wakdewadi.

The servicing to me cost me Rs. 7000 exact. Took 3 ~ 4 hrs to get it done.
No issues to be reported and hence I walked out of the center with an ear to ear smile.

Accessories Bought:

Have bought Puig Crash Bobbins from Paddock, Pune. Havent got the wind splitter for the bike yet as they were unavailable till I last checked in.
Also, I checked for the after market exhausts with Paddock but they only have 2Brothers for now.
Also got Xena Security Disc Alarm ordered from Amazon US.

Thrilling Satisfying and Gives me sense of joy every time I put my eyes on this machine

This is a very brief sharing of my experience and living with the machine. This has given me by far the most satisfying feeling of ownership. It makes a statement of its own and doesnt make you feel that you are missing on something. As rightly claimed, this is the most affordable in line 4 available in India currently and it has a potential to be the ground breaking introduction into the two wheeler scenario in India.

A very very Happy Soul ...

cheerz.. ride safe and be safe on road

A couple of additions have been planned. I'm planning to get a Puig Crash Protector, tank pad (obviously) and a Puig New Generation Windscreen. This particular screen looks the best of all that I have seen. The Rafael from Puig looks like an afterthought (my view..no offense meant). This one gives it a far better look.

A couple of months down the line I will get a Renthal front and rear chain sprocket. The intention is to get a lower rpm at cruising speeds. The Z800 is geared short and the longer gearing may help to keep the revs down.

You need to hear the bike in reality instead of the video. I feel that the video does not do any justice to the amount of bass generated by the stock exhaust. The FZ1 with a stock exhaust sounds similar.

Wow - that's quite some list .
I guess its better to have the whole set - crash bobbins, fork protectors and frame sliders.
For Windscreens have a look at the MRAs as well - they should have something stock for the Z series .

Did you mean to say that stock exhaust creates impressive bass to ears ... ?
Its good but I m not sure if that wd be distinctively noticeable unless you are not at high RPMs. Thats my observation from past few days since the time I have been riding in the city or so.

Congratulations ! I am amazed with the design language of the kawasaki nakeds. Looks futuristic , ample power , enough features and sensibly priced. Rode one some time back and a lovely chassis and beautiful power delivery. My only grouse was that it was on the heavier side for a 800 cc naked but a very small price to pay for such a complete package. . Ride hard , ride safe.

Hearty Congrats niranjanvaidya. Had a chance to witness this beast in Chennai race track for D390 track event. Two Z800's(First lot) landed in Chennai. I am not a naked bike lover but fell in love in first sight. Indeed a fantastic buy under 10 lakh for a in-line 4. Unlucky only black with little stripe of green colour is available for India.
