Wanted to know if anyone has dynoed it after these 3 mods. If the dyno reads about 95bhp its safe to assume its producing 105 at crank isnt it?
Also whats the top whack you have achieved after all the mods you have done. You can share the same via a pm if you dont wanna say it up here.

for some reason i feel the crankshaft of the Brazilian and the EU spec are different
no concrete information on this though

various owners have claimed 83-91 WHP on dyno
but one long test drive between ST and Z800 back to back
will give u the answer and will clear your mind

i get to ride my friends z800 quite often and rode it for long highway rides too
    and i love my ST

    ive touched 230 till date
    on both stock gearing
and even on -1 front tooth

on stock gearing that is 16T front
in 5th gear i clocked 228 and still had juice left and another gear
so i assume it will touch 240-243 km/hr on stock gearing

    and on -1 front
ive clocked 230 on 6th gear with some more juice left
so basically it would do 232-235 km/hr
    with a smaller front sprocket

my main intention to go -1 on the front sprocket was to get more initial acceleration

and i dont recommend or advice u to hit such speeds

and if u haven't ridden a naked bike earlier i would like to take it progressively because
at the beginning of my ownership
i was in crouched position doing such speed runs and i lifted my upper body and i was almost thrown back to the pillion seat,
scary it was , so i would advice u to fully know the bike before u hit such speeds

Thank you for the detailed response. These clear some air.
91whp is almost there i suppose.
This is a classic case of liking a dynamics of a motorcycle so much that im finding ways to work around its negatived even before purchasing it.

        Hey bro,

Don't worry about the mods right away for any superbike at all. First you really need to decide what is your style.

Are you short/mid distance rider who wants to go fast? Or are you mostly city bound guy who may go for occasional weekend rides to have fun?
Are you completely mad about bikes where you will go out of your way to reach places like Coimbatore, Chennai, Noida so that you can attend race track schools or want to attend frequent track days etc? And want to perform best? For this purpose you can live with a bike that is not comfortable in day to day ride?
Or are you a long distance relaxed rider who would preferably travel with significant amount of luggage along with your better half also riding pillion with you?

Triumph Street Triple meets majority of above goals with some amount of compromises.

        1) Easy for day to day riding in city, decent comfort for rider+pillion on short to mid distance (minimal or no luggage)
        2) Performs well on twisty roads and also on race tracks it is admirably good
        3) Even people do manage fairly long distance rides with luggage - but then you can't have a pillion rider in addition to luggage in such case.

Don't get too worked about top whack - there are bikes that can achieve really high speeds if you spend enough money - but in India, is that needed? If you got 22 L to spend - buy Aprilia TUONO V4 1100 Factory - eyes closed - that bike is sooooooooooooooo good! But believe me, it is too much of a bike...I took a test ride and super impressed with it...But I am loving my street and have no budget to go anything further...I will gradually upgrade street as I am getting more exposure on the stock bike first...

Any normal good rider wanting to own his or her first super bike should look for a bike that is more of an all rounder - unless you want to absolutely go for racing or something!

Cruisers - I am not a fan of that category - but there are 3 strong options - Harley Davidson, INDIAN and Moto Guzzi...I find Indian very attractive and better than the other two - though Moto Guzzi are Italian cruisers and not typical America cruisers - so these are somewhat sporty cruisers and look quirky and different - so I find those good too...Surprisingly, in HD stable, the only bikes I really liked in terms of looks are too costly...All their bikes below 12-13 L are lacking features that INDIAN and Moto Guzzi provide - and once you go to HD which is comparable in price with Indian, I found Indian as more beautiful and light weight (relatively) with more refinement and punch...

HAve not tested Moto Guzzi - but expect them to be somewhat faster and also those can brake much more rapidly as they have Brembo Dual Disc front brakes much like sport bikes..

        Hope this helps!

Note: Once again, I would have totally recommended Triumph ST to you - it is really a very good bike, the problem is that there is no clear known solution about the stalling issue.
Personally I AM NOT FACING STALLING. But too many people have reported and Triumph is always talking about Throttle bodies getting dirty and stepper motor losing calibration which they clean and adjust every time someone reports this issue. Nearly all folks said that after anything from 2-5000 km after this process, the issue comes back and same thing is repeated.

Despite all the reported issues, Street remains a popular bike and indeed there are people who have bought this bike in last 1-2 months also - mostly they are probably hoping that Triumph India will find a solution within 2 years - which is warranty period. Triumph is giving some amount of discounts also now a days - just few months ago when I bought, I got no significant discount.

BTW, Triumph Speed Triple 1050 cc currently has a discount of about 1 Lakh and similarly Suzuki GSX1000 S also has similar discounts - so if you have budget, those are very attractive options!!

          Hi jeevan,

I am a long distance rider. I ride only on weekends. And already have completed the saddlesore 1600. Taken my RC to most of north india and rajasthan. Been to BIC too for the ktm track day.
Now want to tour and need a relaxed roadster. Im done wid faired bikes for the moment. Need a nimble light bike.
N im in love with the sound the 3 cylinders make.
I am guessing by the words in several forums is that the striple is stalling for only them who have remapped their bikes is it?
Coz you are not facing the issue and your bike is bone stock.
Please shed some light if you can.
Oh and if suzuki starts assembling the gsx s here like the busa nothing like it. But im unsure about servicing them in india.

            Hi,

No, the stalling issue is not attributed to any modifications as such. Even stock bike riders have faced this issue. I am just lucky probably..

The problem what I heard from various people is that Triumph is always talking about dirt/dust, poor fuel quality etc...But the thing is - other superbikes haven't reported this issue. Even Triumph Speed Triple, Triumph Daytona riders have not reported this issue.

Maximum people affected are Street Triple owners while there are few Tiger and few Bonneville owners also affected by this issue. So does Triumph mean to say that Daytona is less sensitive to dust than Street Triple? Can't take it...Is Hayabusa not sensitive? What about Yamaha R1 etc? Due to this I am hesitating in recommending - otherwise it is a very good choice and best all rounder bike in 600-800cc category...

            NOTE:

Somehow worldwide impression is that Japanese bikes are easier to maintain and spares are easy to get etc. But in India I am not too sure. I have not heard very high satisfaction remarks about Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki etc..In fact that way Triumph is not bad at all - for its category, spares and service costs are reasonable and overall at least the Pune showroom guys show a lot of courtesy to us.
Kawasaki spares or service is nothing cheaper.

For long distance riding, if you have budget - you can think about INDIAN Scout - one of my friend has just bought this bike and it is good in its segment.

stalling is prevalent even on stock bike and various owners have claimed various reasons and scenario is different for each

i had slip-on and BMC air filter right before 1st service itself
and had no stalling until i reached 7000kms mark and now its gone.

ask your dealer to arrange for long distance test drive which triumph will easily provide
              then make your mind
if your under 10 lacs budget
              its either z800 or ST
there are other options too like benelli 600 , ER-6N too but ST feels nimble and light

Is that 83-91 hp at the wheel? Are you sure because even Z800 gives only 91 HP at the wheel.
There's usually a 20% power drop between hp at the wheel and at the crank.
So a 91hp at wheel means 110 hp at the crank!
I guess 83-91 figure must be hp at crank after calculations.

83-91 hp at wheel for sure. I saw the streety producing about 95 hp at wheel in international forums. Big bikes of this kinds have usually a 10% loss.

But you have to factor in other things also, like fuel quality, climate, environmental conditions, etc.
We have lower quality fuel, hotter climate and dustier conditions. So that takes a toll on the performance.

I'm saying because a Z800 tested on a dyno produced around 91 hp (where I read).

I'm really doubtful of dyno readings in India because of no proper setup anywhere.

yes anywhere between 82-91 Wheel HP
that's what many users have reported
but many got around 85-87 Wheel HP
and only one folk got 91WHP
and the least was 82 WHP

The WHP varied widely from one bike to another based on the fuel , climate and other factors
and it is true we have no proper calibrated dyno set up in india
so these claimed number might not be totally true also

z800 makes more power compared to ST and that's for sure and one cant deny it

Of course it should produce more power. For such a fat bellied bike it does feel lively.
