I have gone ahead and booked Triumph Street Triple - financially this felt a foolish decision even to myself but after test rides, I could not convince myself towards other stuff.

      Thank you very much Jeevan.

Hearty congratulations on booking the Street Triple. Street Triple is an excellent bike. It comes with the best brakes, steel braided lines, Pirelli Rubber, Lightest in its class, very good balance of low end torque and top end power. It looks the part too with decent color options. No matter what the spec sheets say, I believe Street triple is a very good bike, apt for our kind of conditions where sometime light weight maneuverability might help than outright power.

Keep us posted on when you get it.

OT: Not trying to steal our Rachit's show here. Congrats on your new steed, Its one helluva machine. I too didnt like the way Kawasaki people treated its customers here in Chennai when I was hunting for my first upgrade to a SBK, I had Z800, 650F, 600i, and the ST in mind.

650F is a great machine, but my liking for faired bikes is less so, dropped it off the list.

Triump guys in Chennai were not that friendly either, when i popped in the showroom asking for ST, they just ignored me, thinking I am just a passer-by who came inside to have a look at the bikes. I spoke to the showroom in-charge and reminded him that I am not a passer-by and I earn enough to buy these machines and he was apologetic for their actions and that says it all for me.

Z800, its a way different league. Initially when the showroom was launched, i was eager to see it and tried for test rides so many times. Atlast got an opportunity to do it, but unfortunate another dumb-a** guys who took the Versys 1000 for a TD had crashed it and they cancelled the whole event. No news or calls came from their end for 4 months and the wait was killing me. I grew angry every day.

Then heard about the Benelli bikes launched in Chennai, My best experience with any personnel so far. They were so courteous to offer me a TD on 300 and 600i. Moment I thumb-started the engine, I fell for the sound of I-4. and decided to book it next week.

        Now, I am a proud owner of a TNT600i.

Absolutely no issues brother. I completely agree. Most of the people getting these bikes are fulfilling a desire and the one thing that they don't want is being mistreated or not being made feel special. Experience in this segment really matters a lot. Manufacturers/Dealers who understand this do well.

Congratulations on the lovely machine brother..

re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53

@Mod: Please change the title to:
A dream come true - My Honda CBR650F. 1st Service Update on Pg 4.

So the first service was done on last friday. I clocked 1023 Kms in the first month which is what I had targeted. But in the process I realized how difficult it is to ride a 1000 Kms a month just for riding especially if you are not touring. I mean, right now the family is supportive because its a new thing, pretty soon they are going to get fed up.

One another Positive surprise, Honda is offering 3 free services on the bike which neither I knew nor did I expect. Overall a very positive service experience. The service engineer Dilip is a very nice guy and handle the bike with utmost care. They answered all my questions and doubts patiently and were not bothered in my roaming around the bike while it was serviced. There expertise to handle big bikes is clearly visible. The service area is very neat and arranged and the whole setup looks very professional and well managed.

              Things they did:
              1) Oil change. I checked, they put 10W30 fully synth of a brand called Throttle. I think it is probably a Honda brand only or has a tie up or something.
              2) Oil Filter Change
              3) Clutch tight
              4) Their washing system was due for an upgrade so to compensate Dilip cleaned the bike with damp cloth and applied a healthy dose of wax to make up for it.
              5) Chain clean and Lube. They use Motul lube and clean.
              6) Various bolts tension check and tightening

Overall I think it took around 2 hours for the whole process.
Total Damages: 3130. Bill attached for reference.
I checked and they said if it would not have been a free service they would have charged around 1800 for labour. Also, the air filter is not recommended to be changed in the first service. Dilip said it is of viscous types.

              Differences after the service:
Because my clutch was loose, tightening the gear shifts have definitely become better. Gladly the vibrations are reducing with time and the bike does feel smoother. You can now say that it feels like a smooth Honda Inline 4 for the most part.

Now that I don't have any RPM restrictions (not that I was following any), the bike feels much nicer to ride. Overall very happy with the bike and no complaints as of now.

Also on the side note my R&G radiator guard and R&G frame sliders have arrived. Will be putting them on in a couple of days.

Congrats Brother!! That service bill does not sound like too much for a big capacity sports bike... Any plans on installing R&G Tail Tidy kit?? That would look fantastic on the bike...

Yeah, I am planning for a tail tidy kit but I like the Yoshimura one the most. Might be getting it soon.

Thank you very much brother. Yup, all these years it has been a roller coaster ride pretty much.
I would always get the urge to upgrade to something like a R15 or Ninja300 or Duke390. Initially when I started with this dream, I used to think I will have only 1 shot at it hence I wanted to get a 1000. So all these years I have gone through various phases of thought processes. Thankfully I have been blessed with wonderful level headed friends who helped me reach this point.
