I will try my best to keep updating the thread to the best of my capabilities brother.

On the exhaust, yes, the process is on. I am to travel to US for an office trip during end of this month. Will be getting the exhaust from US.

Yup, if you want a slip on the only jugaadu way to do it is the way you suggested.

I am getting the Full Akra. After email conversations with Akra, Revzilla and updates from CBR650F Forums I am now confident that this exhaust from Akra was specifically designed to not require any additional fuel tuning. You can use a Power Commander for more power but even if you don't use a Power Commander that should not pose any reliability issues.

Hopefully next month it should be on the bike.

Rachit, if you don't mind me asking - what is the speed at 4.5k rpm in top gear?

That's pretty awesome! Yes the quality will be spot on, the price will be standard or you'd pay a lot more for shipping. That's pretty nice research you did there, also if the bike doesn't necessarily need a ECU remap u can get a air filter I spose, I think the price will be subsidized. Keep me updated if u install the exhaust what's the difference u personally feel and if u feel the bike is lighter.

Air filter will need Fuel Tuning, else the bike will start running leaner. From what I understand the stock ECU will not be able to compensate for a High Flow air filter.
In US the exhaust is coming out to be around 9-10K cheaper than the India Sticker price. Plus the genuineness is guaranteed in US.

Sure brother, I will keep the thread updated.

Hey, Sorry brother. Not sure how I missed your question.
I am not sure about 4.5K RPM.

But at 5K RPM in 6th gear it does around 105-110 Kmph. I know this number because I use this as a reference to change gears as this bike does not have a gear Indicator.
At 5K RPM in 5th gear it is around 99-100 Kmph.

Thanks for the reply, rachit. Reason i asked is that 4-4.5k rpm is the best speed for mileage, at least in the 250. I'm sorely tempted to sell a flat and get the 650f. Just that, I can't use even the CBR 250 fully, due to nature of Indian highways. I'm just worried I'll kill myself on a bigger bike.

You would be able to enjoy the extra oomph of the 650 brother. Yes, you will not be able to touch its top speed every time but then in my opinion that is not the point.
The biggest advantages such bikes bring is effortless fast cruising on highways with enough power in reserve for overtaking.

What you should also keep in mind is that, its not only the performance that the 650 has it over 250. Its handling, brakes, tyres too. So a 650 would be much stable at lets say 120 than a 250.

If you know what you are doing, you wouldn't get yourself killed on a S1000RR as well brother.

So go sell your flat and get the 650.
I am sorry, Just kidding on this.

U said for the exhaust u don't need tuning? I have fabricated a temporary exhaust pipe on my bike, the 250 what u said applies here too right? I'm gonna fabricate my own stainless steel exhaust with carbon fibre muffler but for the moment ,I'm on a pipe

Brother, I am not that technically well educated but from what I have read, there goes a lot in making an exhaust. The exhaust pulses need to be matched to crank movements and what not. So the length and diameter of the pipes play a crucial role. That is why I think a lot of aftermarket exhausts have same length as of the stock exhaust.

Most free flow exhaust benefit from being lighter and because of cat con removal makes the engine breathe better. But this does need alterations in ECU for proper combustion.
Most modern ECU equipped bikes with O2 sensor on exhaust will be able to take +-10 readings than baseline. From what I understand is Akra for CBR650F was designed in a way that this +-10 reading adaptability of stock ECU should be enough for proper combustion. For more performance out of the exhaust you still will need fuel tuning.

Now in your case, honestly it will be tough to make a judgement as to whether you will need fuel tuning or not. How does the bike feel in riding? Does the idle remain consistent during various times of the day? Do you feel throttle response getting sharper? Do you feel bike getting hotter than before?

Well its certainly louder lol, torque has increased but bhp has slightly dropped, this is a temp exhaust, and yes it has that fitment for ecu tuning, but I'm making a more proper one, what I have on right now is just for fun, running it for a few hundred kms, idling seems normal. I'm curious ,does the akra for the 650 f have a catalytic converter? I'm using my stock exhaust as design and making a stainless or aluminum exhaust with a carbon fibre muffler, want to get the dimensions n sizing just right ,

                              Sounds Interesting!!

Akra does not have Catalytic Converter. Although, most Akras have an optional add on Catalytic Converter that you can buy and add to your setup.

@Mods: Please change the thread title to:
A dream come true - My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: 2nd Service Update on page 20

So after a lot of thought, reading and research, I had finally decided to get the Akra for the bike. The key considerations were that I will only get the exhaust, even it being full system. I had spoken to Honda guys, read on CBR650 Forums and sent emails to Revzilla and Akra. The conclusion that I got is that this exhaust has been specifically designed to work reliably within the parameters of stock ECU. Running it with baffles with the stock ECU will not be an issue. For full potential one can get Power Commander and Air Filter, but even without them there will be no issues. I also rode the Honda test ride CBR650F in Delhi which had the exhaust installed.

I decided to get the exhaust from US as I was getting it around 11K cheaper there plus the genuineness was guaranteed.

My bike had clocked around 5300 Kms and I had missed the deadline of 2nd service from a time duration perspective by around 3 months. So thought of getting the service and exhaust done together.

As usual, extremely happy and satisfied with the work carried out by the Naraina Honda Wings. The more I experience them, the more I think I would never buy any other big bike except for Honda just because of them.

                                As part of Second Service:
They changed the Oil and Oil Filter.
Cleaned the Chain and lubed it.
Checked brakes and Clutch and various other nuts
Air Filter requires change at 15K. They said they they will clean it in the next service at 12K.

and then the Full System Install.

All in all it took 3 hours for the whole process.

I don't have the detailed bill Yet, but high level I paid 5500 for both the service and the exhaust Install. 3100 for the service, 2000 for the exhaust install and 400 taxes. Will share the bill once I have it.

Pretty reasonable I would say considering the quality of work and time and attention given to your loved bike.

Some early first short ride impressions:
                                1) It sounds just perfect with the baffles. Hardly any louder at idle and smooth cruising. Only louder when on the gas.
                                2) Bike feels even smoother. It does seem to have reduced the vibes also a bit.
                                3) Throttle response feels crisper and bike feels eager. Can be the exhaust note effect. But it does feel more eager now.
                                4) The fun factor has definitely gone up and the ride back home was nice even in 48 deg Delhi heat.
                                5) Cant comment on the reduced weight yet as I had the stock 11 KGs exhaust in a backpack on my back ready to fall at moments notice.

Will keep updating as I ride and explore more.
