re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Hey Friend,Originally posted by Deathwing View PostHey rachit, how's your bike after the full akrapovic system was installed?
Its going good. I think I have done close to 1000 KMs after the exhaust install and everything seems to be going well.
I am still running with the Baffles In, so it is not very loud but is enough to give you a feel.
I already knew it and it has happened again, your riding style does change a bit with the after market exhaust.
There is some Top End power gain that I can feel, but largely no major perceivable gains. The fueling etc seems good even without additional fuel tuning.
I am going to keep it this way for some time atleast. Initially I felt that the vibrations have gone down, but I think they are pretty much the same.

re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Hey Rachit, I am new to the forum. I know it's a bit late but nevertheless...congratulations for the wonderful possession!
I am still saving to buy my next one, have just sold off my ninja 650. Test drove the CBR650F, love the smoothness of the engine. I am yet to finalise on the bike though, still confused between Striple, 650f n Tnt 600i. Still hAve a lot of time to decide as I would be buying it next year.
Two small queris...can we run the bike without the baffles with stock ecu and are there any handle bar risers available in the market for 650f as I am used to a more upright position of ninja 650?
Thanks

Thank you for your wishes.
Running without baffles on stock exhaust or Akrapovic? For Akrapovic, what I deduce from everything that I have heard and read is that for long term reliability you should keep the baffles in without additional fuel tuning because of exhaust back pressure and stuff.
I have not seen any handle bar risers for CBR650F. But honestly I don't think you will need it. I mean the riding position is not that committed. Plus because of this riding position their is some weight on the front end that goes a long way in front end feel while cornering. Also it just adds a bit of sportiness to the ride.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions..
Happy Hunting

Hey friend,Originally posted by Gokul S1000rr View PostThis thread is not active for almost a month. Seems like the owner is busy riding.
Actually its not like that. I frequent this thread very often to see if anybody has any questions.
The problems is I check forum from office and posting photos from office laptops is just too much of a hassle.
The other thing is that I didn't have any special update apart from the fact that the CBR completed 1 year. I am hoping for some sort of tour so that I have a nice update to share.
Other than that, the bike is going strong. It has clocked 7500 Kms so far.
Will try to post some pics very soon.

Hey Rachit,
Good to hear from you. Congrats on completing one year.
Couple of questions. Please clarify.
1. How much did you pay for insurance renewal and from which company did you went with?
2. Did you get emission test done?
Apart from that, I have completed 10.5K Kms. Its going good and strong.
Thanks,
RakeshLast edited by cgrakesh; 08-30-2016, 04:16 PM.

Yes.Thanks for the reply and I am expecting for the lovely pics and your experiences with the bike
.
Actually your thread is the no.1 in my subscribed list and i used to visit this thread every time i come to xbhp. For the past one month i didn't see any post and that's why i came in.
By the way i am a sucker of superbikes and currently riding a yamaha r15 v2.0 for almost over a 40k kms in 2 and half years. Most of that comes from chennai to Namakkal(my home town) 800kms trip up and down. For the past one year i felt like the r15 is too underpowered and my itch of riding superbikes got increased day by day and i couldn't stop it. That was the time i came to know about the wickedride(superbike rental company) from an article in Motorbeam. I was in contact with them and i used to take a superbike every month and i have ridden almost all the superbike from their fleet. But now i feel like i want to become an owner of a superbike myself.
Now comes the love of CBR650F:
This was Feb,2014 that was when i saw cbr650f on photos for the first time in photos online. It was launched for american markets back then and i was during my final year Automobile Engineering in Anna University MIT. I always used to wonder, will there be any middleweight sportsbike from Honda to rival Ninja 650(the best choice of superbike available in india 2 to 3 years back). The moment i saw cbr650f for the first time, i imagined the bike coming to india and me buying it. A one and half years later in August 2015, Honda did the launch of cbr650f in india. From 2 weeks before the launch of the bike, Honda started giving entry pamphlets for the launch event. In chennai the launch even took place in YMCA, Nandambakkam and i was working in chennai and still now too. For those 2 weeks, day and night i used to dream about going to the launch event and behold the cbr650f in person. Then the day came and i was there in the event and honda launched around 12 to 13 bikes in that event. I was waiting there for the cbr650f to get on the stage and it was the last one to be unveiled. The moment i saw it in person, i was like wowwwweeee
. Then the model on the bike revved the bike and i didn't expect the bike to sound like that being an inline 4. The sound was so smooth and it was very well muted. But overall my initial impresson on the bike was okay. Then while returning back to my home from the show, it was raining heavily and i waited there for an hour. But the rain didn't seem to stop. So i started proceeding to my home which was in Ambattur (25kms away from the place where launch happened). I was drenched to my skin and so is my Iphone
. After reaching home i came to know that my Iphone went kaputt
. I was thinking like, hadn't i gone to the launch show, i would have save my phone and it was a bad sign. But i couldn't resist.
2 months later during chennai auto expo in chennai trade center, Honda showcased the cbr650f and i visited the expo and registered for the test ride. I got a call a week later and was asked for test ride. I agreed and went to SVM Honda, Ayanavaram the next weekend. Sadly the showroom manager refused to give the bike for test ride as it was a rainy season and the area was not dry. I was asked to visit the showroom when the climate is okay. SO i waited and visited the showroom 2 weeks later and the agreed to give the bike for test ride. That was the first time i rode a superbike and cbr650f happened to be the first superbike that i have experienced(Superbikes experience which i had with wickedride happened months later this test ride). I liked the power delivery of the bike. There was no sudden surge in power. As expected the sound was still muted even if i revved the bike about 6k rpm. I didn't get the change to rip the bike to its heaven as the riding route was a bit conjested and i rode it only for about 4kms. At the end of the day, even if i had experienced a lot of superbikes from wickedride for 100s and 100s of kms, i felt like nothing comes close to the experience with cbr650f(personal view). No offense to other superbike riders. Probably it is because the first superbiking experience with cbr650f.
I hope soon i will become an owner of the bike, which happened to be my 1st riding in a superbike
Once again Thanks Rachit for this thread and wish you luck for munching miles and miles and share that experience here

CBR650F is a good bike. No matter how much I lust for the Fireblade or whatever, every time I sensibly try to think, I realize I made a good decision.Originally posted by Gokul S1000rr View PostBy the way i am a sucker of superbikes and currently riding a yamaha r15 v2.0 for almost over a 40k kms in 2 and half years. It is a do it all bike with a decent hint of sport.
I think you are doing great by using the Superbike Rental to try different bikes. I really wish more such services come up so that people can try these bikes and then decide which one suits them as Showroom test rides leave a lot to be desired. Plus in many cases we are not really sure what we really want, because mostly we want everything.
Thank you for your wishes again and I will do my best to keep updating this thread.
My best wishes for you and hopefully you will very soon get your dream bike.
