Re: FURY - my Honda CBR 650F
Yes the console is ratting a bit, just between 2k and 3k RPM tough. I cant figure out what or which bolt/nut is loose. I've taken the bike to extremely bad roads and apart from the rattling console everything else is as good as new and in its placeOriginally posted by rachitkdogra View PostRegards,

Thank you for all your honest feedback brother. Slight rattling would be expected in any case from any machine considering the roads it went through.
I am getting more and more comfortable now taking her places.

How is the suspension set up on Indian roads? Is it coping well?Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostThank you for all your honest feedback brother. Slight rattling would be expected in any case from any machine considering the roads it went through.

Yes, I think so. For my weight (Around 72 Kgs) the bike feels pretty well setup.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostHow is the suspension set up on Indian roads? Is it coping well?
Its stiff enough to stay consistent during cornering but still pliant enough for our roads. It is on the stiffer side but not harsh in my opinion.

Re: FURY - my Honda CBR 650F
Kinda expect to have a plush suspension to go with the smooth gearbox n engine. I like to know how the power delivery is? I saw a review on power drift and they said for overtaking u always have to gear down... I like to know how a aftermarket exhaust system would work on the bike , I think that gearing down problem would go ,don't ya think?Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostYes, I think so. Re: FURY - my Honda CBR 650F
I wouldn't call it plush. But its not super sport stiff either in my opinion. I have not ridden many bikes from this segment but this feels like a very good balance for sporty riding.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostKinda expect to have a plush suspension to go with the smooth gearbox n engine. I disagree on downshifting while overtaking unless you are doing 50 and you want to leap forward.
What I feel is that the bike has enough poke even in the 6th gear that it picks cleanly from 60 KMpH.
Most of the times I still keep upshifting after 6th. There will be scenarios when you will need to downshift but its not like for any speedy overtake you will need it.
When I took it to the highway, you are cruising around 90ish and are around 5K RPM on console. This is almost where the power starts building. You just twist the wrist and the bike catches speeds quite rapidly.

Console rattles can be easily fixed with some foam strips stuck between the console and its mount.Originally posted by Arsenic View PostYes the console is ratting a bit, just between 2k and 3k RPM tough. re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
I saw a cbr650 in the flesh for the first time in chetpet, chennai. 2 mechs were taking it for a ride, and I liked the vehicle. Not too sexy to attract attention, at the same time, had muscle at the right places. However the exhaust was so quiet, even my cbr250 was making more sound. Quite a practical bike. Can someone tell me where in Chennai is the Honda showroom where I can see one?

SVM Honda aynavaram but I don't trust that showroom cause I saw a few bad service centre reviews , i trust Didar Honda egmore, their service and they know what they are doing and make sure they do the job on the bike n give it to you. Also about the exhaust note on the CBR 650f its Loud past 5000rpm , u can hear the inline 4, but nothing an aftermarket slipon on full exhaust can't fixOriginally posted by leech View PostI saw a cbr650 in the flesh for the first time in chetpet, chennai. 2 mechs were taking it for a ride, and I liked the vehicle. One -ve about the bike is that you cannot have slipon on the bike as the stock exhaust is one piece. Only full systems.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostSVM Honda aynavaram but I don't trust that showroom cause I saw a few bad service centre reviews , i trust Didar Honda egmore, their service and they know what they are doing and make sure they do the job on the bike n give it to you. My best wishes for your journey towards your dream bike.
I have went through the similar phase. When you are in it, you feel every day is very long but when you do get your bike all you remember is the positives.
So keep at it.

re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Thought of posting a small update. Covered around 4900 Kms till now. Everything working smoothly with the bike. Getting more and more comfortable with the power and handling. Overall no complaints with the bike.
Checked on the the extended warranty and Honda is offering an extended warranty on the bike. Don't know what will be covered and what will not, but it costs around 2700 bucks for extending it by 3 years which is nice. Will get it when I go for the 2nd service. Probably the only big bike in India with an extended warranty. Gives me confidence.
The itch for an exhaust is also increasing day by day. The thing is that with this bike being so quite, the sense of speed is less and hence sometimes less satisfying. I rode a friends bike with an aftermarket exhaust and similar speeds felt more satisfying. Maybe just mind games, but the itch is growing.
Initial discussions with the Honda guys and the Akra guys say that you don't need a PC5 and an air filter for the Akra exhaust on the bike. It might not give that much gain but will not harm the bike. I did not want an air filter or PC5 at this stage. So will get only the exhaust and maybe these 2 things later. Want to keep the bike as stock as possible as in my opinion nothing beats the stock ECU for reliability and handling of different kinds of weather or temperatures that the bike might experience.
Average fuel consumption has gone up and I think that is largely because I am becoming more and more liberal with the throttle. But still stays in the range of 20-23 KMPL within city.
Also got the Rjays pedal type Paddock stand for the bike for washing, cleaning and general chain maintenance.

re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Haha I feel about ur itch of a exhaust, the main pro about a louder exhaust is that people know ur coming behind them, and they will give way, the stock exhaust is super silent. I can give u a simple example on my CBR 250, I used a temporary exhaust pipe, I noticed a big difference in traffic, people knew I was behind em, on the other hand the stock sound is nonexistent, I have honk behind a slow vehicle on the right side.If u just want sound, slip on is a good option, performance obv a full system, I have seen akrapovic n scorpion exhaust systems for the 650f not sure if there are anymore, but do keep me updated if u happen to change the exhaustOriginally posted by rachitkdogra View PostThought of posting a small update. re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Yeah, I agree on your point of people giving way as well. Many people have told me about this advantage of louder exhaust as well.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostHaha I feel about ur itch of a exhaust, the main pro about a louder exhaust is that people know ur coming behind them, and they will give way, the stock exhaust is super silent. Actually the issue is that CBR650F will not take slip on as the stock exhaust is one piece unless you want to cut the stock exhaust and put a generic end can.
So only full systems can be used. As of now there is 1 from Akra, Scorpion, Arrow, Two brothers and Yoshimura as well.
I will only get the Akra of I decide to get one. The reason mainly is I have seen it, heard it and rode a bike fitted with it as well.
It looks nice, and sounds musical. With the baffles, its not very loud and add just the right amount of bass which I really liked.
Plus from an availability point of view as well, it is quite easily available at a lot of places in Delhi.
Will keep the thread posted once I get it, Although it is still atleast 6 months away. Want to clock more KMs on the bike before deciding it its favor.
Lets see till when I can resist.
