Thank you. Yeah, I am sure LED indicators would also enhance the look. Will wait for some time now.
Will think about them next year.

Yeah, although I generally avoid water and mud on the road as it spoils the bike as well but now I have to be all the more careful.

My pleasure brother. Please don't call me sir man. I don't think I deserve that yet.
If you are thinking between the 2, there are some very good Z800 ownership threads on the forum as well that should help you in pros and cons of both.

Yes sir but these arent really updated with respect to cbr650f.. i am hoping to get a z800 most prob by feb next year but i dont like the new paint scheme and long term maintainance cost.. competition is obviously the honda and i quite like the way you have described the people in delhi and the way they take care of the bike..

Well good luck with your purchase decision. I would highly recommend a back to back test ride of both bikes. Both dealerships are not very far from each other.
One is in Vasant Vihar and the other is in Naraina.

Do let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Hey, due to cost factor and also due to power figures scam with Triumph, even I had exactly same dilemma about choosing the right bike and had 90% decided on Kawasaki Z800. Yet, I have ended up buying Triumph Street Triple 675 - despite it being lower powered, higher priced and having lower ground clearance...

Check out my thread with "Red Rose" in its title. Z800 is an excellent choice and far better value for money than Triumph but there are still reasons to choose Triumph ST - check out if those are applicable in your case. Somehow Honda CBR 650F despite being an excellent bike, doesn't appeal in a visceral way like Z800 or Triumph ST. But that is very subjective opinion from me and CBR 650F is not to be ignored surely.

I was in the same boat. I liked all these same bikes and similarly I liked the Daytona the most. Why we like the Daytona is because it is a proper sports bike and our dream was to own a sports bike. So its kind of an emotional lust for me. For me also the daytona was a very uncomfortable stretch.

Test ride all of them. When I was in the market I used that occasion to feel special and test rode everything that I wanted or could.
There is nothing that tells you more about a bike than riding it.

Ohh waaao that looks sooo nice now..sweet sweet ride!!
Try to install some LED indicators too, I believe Rizoma makes them for the 650F, that would really make the bike look more premium..

FEW things to consider while buying Daytona:

                        1) Be extremely sure - the cost is much higher - about 4-4.5 lakhs extra (even more if it is Daytona 675 R I guess)
                        2) Daytona's pillion seat is such that it is practically impossible for anyone to sit on it - truly it is a bike for a single person only. Even if your girlfriend/wife/brother/sister etc have the guts to sit on that, they will not be able to bear it for anything more than 20-30 minutes max I guess!
                        3) It has lot of fairing which needs more care than unfaired naked bikes
                        4) It is scarily fast! If Street Triple is about 80 bhp, Daytona is more like 120+ BHP! And weight is almost similar...Far more careful handling needed...It is razor sharp and could be more unforgiving (I haven't taken a test ride - but a racer bike will be more unforgiving than a street fighter though they share many parts - the unforgiving nature of a racer bike makes it far more challenging and also very rewarding if you have the guts and skills to handle it)

But if that is what the heart says, then you should think of other similarly priced bikes also (I think in the 13-16 lakhs range there are quite a few options now a days...)

Daytona is becoming highly popular now a days as it appears really flashy and cool - but it would be harder to control yourself - and hence the bike when riding it...You will tend to ride it faster and faster - so beware!!

It is a beauty indeed and if you have the skills or plan to add those skills by attending something like California Superbike School (they conduct classes in Chennai yearly) - then go for it...

I think Kawasaki is going to have Ninja ZX6 (636 cc I think) which will be a quite worthy competitor to it....

If you are thinking of Daytona purely because it is a fully faired motorcycle - then you should consider Honda CBR 650 F seriously - as that is also a fast but far more comfortable and forgiving machine. Only it doesn't really sound nice - and hence you will surely need aftermarket Akrapovic or Yoshimura or some such good exhaust later on...It doesn't give that heady rush like Triumph ST or Kawasaki Z800...

Thanks for the inputs mate. The thing is i wanted something i could tour on and had good dealership support which was immediately a kawa 650 but it wasnt exciting. It sounds meh.. next came the benelli 600i but the dealership in delhi is turning out to be a pain in the ass and its naked but sounds so freakin exhilerating. Its close to 7L on road now compared to kawas 6L and then i thought why not take a plunge towards the z800 instead.. but thinking back now i feel after i start my post grad i wont have enough time to sleep let alone go for tours around the country. Plus parents are terrified that i will end up getting hurt or worse so they are quite sceptical and have begged me to just let go off the whole idea. You know the usual family drama. And its a real pain coz i was realy looking forward to upgrade and had done most of my technical research. Its mind boggling how you people have managed to convince your dear ones..

Convincing Dear ones is a battle in its own brother. It took me years to keep bringing this up with my dad so that he does not stall the process at the last moment.
Plus since last year I knew of the bike and an expected time frame of getting it, I increased the frequency of such discussions. It took numerous discussions, logic explanations, my financial justifications and what not and even then he was of the favor that I should get a more expensive car than this.

I am really good at emotional blackmailing so finally had to resort to that to kind of make everybody aligned.

Mother India is actually better at emotional blackmail than i am.. Plus as usual buying riding gear means i am going to go fast so that was also met with futile arguments but i seriously believe its essential for tours.Planning on picking up an all weather jacket in december from delhi.. Guess R15 is gonna last another year or so.. Lets hope i can manage to comvince them for the Kawa next year atleast..

You will have to buy LED flasher relay to convert your incandescent turn lights to led ones. Or else they will have hyper blinking issues. Most companies make them in stock bike relay size so it can be direct replacement. You can also see if the Duke's led lights can fit with or without a small rubber adapter if the hole is a bit big for it.
