Hello there.
Hey Rachit, hope you and your bike are doing well.
I had few questions for CBR650F owners.
I am planning on getting one soon so i test rode it last week. I found everything perfect except that i felt lot of wrist pain and that's a deal breaker for me. I test rode in afternoon and the pain was there till night. Also i noticed that something scrapes when you go over speedbreakers , what is it exactly ?. So i would be thankful if someone could shed some light on both the issues.

Hi,

The CBR does have a slight forward lean but I never felt it too much to actually result in a wrist paint in a short test ride. I have ridden the bike for atleast a couple of hours in a stretch and I never felt wrist pain that much. Yes long hours in traffic resulted in some pain in the left hand because of clutch being a bit heavy. I think with time you will get used to the riding position and ideally should not have this problem.

Its the big catalytic converter box in the exhaust that can scrape. But it does not scrape that easily if you take the speed breaker consciously. This is with all sporty bike.

Just heard that Kawasaki is launching 4 new/updated bikes in Jan 2017. Any news when the 2017 Honda CBR650F will be launched ?!

Honestly I don't have any news on the new CBR650F launch in India. Will check with the dealer and update here if I find anything.

How are you and your bike? Hope you are enjoying to the fullest with your bike.

I have done 14K as of now. My bike rear tyres have become flat at the center and not confidence inspiring in wet conditions. So went ahead and bought the Metzeler M7 which costed INR 14856. My first priority was Pirelli Angel GT, but due to lack of supply went ahead with Metzeler. Planning to get it fitted on Monday as a long trip (Approximately 2500 kms) is planned from 21st December. Also planning to change/clean Air filter based on the condition. I will let you know on my observations on Tyre after coming back.

Also I recently upgraded my riding pants and boots. I bought Rukka Goretex pants which are amazing. My cousin picked it from Poland. Regarding boots I bought Goretex Alpinestar Toucan which I ordered via burnoutitaly.in.

Good luck for the holiday season and keep riding

Hey, Thank you for the update. Excellent update. Mine is around 9500 Kms right now. We had a trip planned too, but is now getting postponed.

Otherwise the bike is doing fine. So you only changed the rear tyres? Please do keep me posted on the feedback. I might need a new tyre in coming months. Till now the stock one's are doing fine.

Also can you please share where did you get the Metzeler's from? 14K is actually excellent pricing. I am looking at the Pirelli GT and Michelin Pilot Road 3 as options.
Also, if you can please share a pic as to how it looks on the bike.

I might get the Air Filter changed during the 12K servicing. NCR is a very dusty region.

Excellent additions to the Riding gear as well.
I have a Dainese Air 3 riding pant. But I mostly wear the BILT riding jeans. For shoes I use the Alpinestar SMX-1, I do have the SMX-5 as well but since they are full length they are not as comfortable for city riding. European brands do make excellent riding gear.

I bought the tyres from a shop here in Bangalore called "Lets Gear Up". They are quite active in FB and you can reach out to them. I guess they do ship all over India. Michelin Pilot 3 is a old model. I suggest go for PR4. It's a excellent tyre in wet conditions. Costs about 15.5K. The only reason I didn't go for it is it's a round profile tyre and it looks thin then when compared to GT's and M7's.

Thanks for the info sir. I have heard of Lets Gear up. My friend got Michelin PR4s on his ZX10. I somehow prefer the looks of PR3. Plus from what I read, PR4 and PR3 are pretty comparable in dry grip, its the wet where the PR4 really scores. I am not sure if that matters to me much as I don't plan on riding my bike in the rains a lot.
But will await your feedback on the Metzellers. One of my friends is getting Pirelli Angel GTs for Ninja 650, so I will get feedback from him on those as well.

Hey,
Thank you for your response.
I went ahead and bought a CBR650F . Its been a week. I just had to lower the clutch lever and brake lever positions little down and it worked , no wrist pains. And also the cat con doesn't scrape if i go over speedbreakers slowly. Rest the bike is amazing. I enjoy the smoothness but the inline 4 symphony seems subdued so a full system exhaust is on the list. Apart from that i hear a little buzz from engine on slow speeds , dont know what it is . Have to show it to the service centre guys. Brakes are amazing. Feedback from the suspension is amazing. I used to ride a Ninja 300, compared to that its a very comfortable bike. Tyres give more than decent grip.
Overall feels i made a good decision. All thanks to this thread and members, it contributed a lot.

Hey, I believe you may have spotted me, I was on my way back from a Pondi-Valparai-Kochi trip? There was an R3 and a couple more bikes as well.
