One more question, if the temperature at your place is between 33 C to 40 C ,how much time does it take for the radiator fan to kick in ? . For me I feel within 15mins of my ride the fan kicks in to cool it down.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Completely agree with you. Off the few times I have been stuck with mine in traffic, it takes around 5 min in slow traffic for the fan to start. In general observation, 2nd continuous traffic light you idle, the fan will start. I have also had it few times in traffic for more than 15 mins, and it gets quite hot. It heats up more than my expectation honestly. I have not ridden many other bikes in choco block traffic, but I feel the Kawasakis do a bit better job like N650, 10R.

Try Engine Ice for coolant if you are going to face the heat regularly. I have heard good things about it. I wanted to try it but ended up getting the coolant flushed by the service center during the service only. But next time, I am going for engine ice.

      Hi Rachit,

Thanks for the update, my odo is now at 8900km + . I will definitely try to do a flush at 12k service with engine ice.

In the honda manual the service interval is given for every 12k kms, How often do you give for service ?

I got my bike delivered after 1st official service completed and 2nd service they did it unofficially before delivering to me (odo was ~814kms at that time) ,Did my 3rd service after 6k kms in July 2019.
Respect the brotherhood Ride for the one behind you, anyone can twist the throttle. When you are in need be responsible.

Mine is at 24K KMs. I generally get it serviced every 5-6K KMs which takes me an year. So once a year.
Yeah, they did 1 extra service for me too just to document so that the warranty stayed intact.

In India the service interval is 6K KMs or 6 months which is earlier.

          Hi rachit,

How does tail tidy of your bike perform in rains? I am thinking about installing it but a bit worried how it would perform as i mostly ride 2up.

And how much did your angel GT 180/55 cost? Any other option in similar price bracket? my bike is asking for rear tyre change and i am a bit confused which one should i go for.
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

Well, for the tail tidy, performance in rains, only 1 word comes to my mind 'BAD'. Don't get it if you ride in rains and with 2 up it will be worse enough to really get irritated.
I don't ride much in rains, plus mostly alone, so i can manage.

My Angel GT set around 2 years back costed me around 21K. Within the sport touring category, Angel GT and M7RRs are the sportier choices, PR4 is more for higher mileage and wet grip. I also look at it from this perspective, how many KMs you clock in a year. For eg my Angel GTs have clocked around 13K KMs and still have decent tread left, but they have been already on the bike for 2.5 years. I wouldn't want to keep a Tyre for more than 3 years on the bike. Considering my usage, I think I can go for a sportier option like ROsso3 too. However it depends on your usage.

So no tail tidy for me then. Also how long does the stock battery last? Have you changed your battery so far? Is it available off the shelf from honda or do we have some other alternatives from amaron/excide?

My battery has been working fine. It has completed 4 years. I think it should be available from Honda too.
However, there are a few aftermarket options available too. Not sure from Amaron and Excide but some Good Chinese/Japanese Lithium options are available in India. They are a bit expensive around 12-13K range though.

                  Hey Rachit,

OEM battery is from Furkawa, Japan i believe which has a rated 130 CCA (Cold Cranking Ampere: minimum cranking amps the battery can provide @ -18'C). You can easily use Amaron APBTZ 9/ Exide XLTZ 9 at 1/10th of the cost of going for the OEM one as they too are rated more or less close to that range (around 120 CCA). Unless you intend to ride in -ve temperature area, stock Indian batteries will last just as long as the OEM ones. So at the cost of one OEM Furkawa battery, you can swap at least 5-7 Indian brand batteries and run your bike for another 25-30 years...

The stock ECM/ECU nor the bike cares how much CCA the battery can throw so long as it gets a 12 volt point of DC voltage reference while in operation and your beloved will remain happy... so NO unlike popular myth... it will not negatively affect the life of your engine nor any electrical components on your beloved motorcycle. One should ideally replace the battery whenever it shows signs of the vehicle taking a very long time to crank or battery not holding charge. If one continues to ride it for long then the first thing that may go bust on 600CC+ class motorcycles is the magnetic stator coil as the electrical load is much higher than smaller class bikes.

In relation to the Lithium Ion Vs Lead Acid batteries, Ryan from FortNine channel has shared a very good and informative video on the same:

How long does stock clutch last? My 16,000 KM old bike is now slipping its clutch post 6000rpm. ASC has recommended clutch replacement. Is it normal for clutch to wear out so soon? No wheelies/burnouts done. I have tried adjusting the clutch but it hasn't helped.

                        Hi Bro,

I don't think it is easy to put a number on No. of KMs a clutch should last, because it can vary a lot on riding styles, riding conditions etc.
Mine is at 25K and my clutch is still holding up. I guess, 1 key factor will be traffic. How much of the bike is being ridden in Indian Traffic conditions. For the last 2 years or so, my bike has only been used on Sunday Mornings which might have helped.

                        Regards!!

Almost all of my usage has been in city commutes. Not bumper to bumper traffic but still my riding requires frequent gear shifts. Got the whole clutch kit along with new clutch cable for 6500/-. Will get it fitted soon.

That could be the reason. Where did you get the clutch kit from? Seems very reasonable!!
