Re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Hi Folks,
Last few days i faced a very minor issue, just want to know if any of you guys faced the same.
Issue : There is unnecessary revving sometimes very mild increase, and revvs down suddenly once(slight revv down) or twice in one constant ride. I have adjusted the clutch play and Clutch Nut, thinking this might be due to clutch slip, but i have been wrong as repeated once after the range.
Do you think this needs throttle cable to be checked for functioning and lubrication ?
P.S: Happens only when riding in constant same speeds and same revv range for 4 to 5 minutes.
Thanks in advanceRespect the brotherhood Ride for the one behind you, anyone can twist the throttle. When you are in need be responsible.

Re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Could be something as simple as the throttle grip getting stuck? In the Indian heat, the rubber stretches/elongates and the grip ends then touch the bar end weights which sometimes results in the grip getting stuck momentarily. Check if the throttle grip has too much sideways moment and if rotates freely. Try going on a ride with the bar end removed and see if it happens.Originally posted by murali_db View PostHi Folks,

Re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
To my understanding i dont feel it is due to the throttle grip getting stuck, as my issue also includes revving down at one instance when im using the throttle in the same revv range for few minutes. As of now there is not that much heat here and my commute is 17kms over the highway takes 40 minutes max, I park my bike indoors under the basement.Originally posted by Doga View PostCould be something as simple as the throttle grip getting stuck? Clogged fuel line or fuel injector?Originally posted by murali_db View PostTo my understanding i dont feel it is due to the throttle grip getting stuck, as my issue also includes revving down at one instance when im using the throttle in the same revv range for few minutes. The ECU might be forced to think that the bike is either fuelled less or fuelled more and causing bump in RPM or drop.Regards,

That is interesting. I am afraid I have not seen any such issue brother and cant seem to think of why it would be.
I would recommend getting it checked. Do share what it comes out to be.

Bike is 8 months old with 2000kms on the odo, it must be a rare case for fuel line to be clogged . Will ask service technician.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostClogged fuel line or fuel injector?

Yeah have booked service appointment on Saturday, will check and update. There is a mild pull in the rear when I throttle up, very mild that a first time rider can’t identify.Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostThat is interesting. It could be dirty fuel too.Originally posted by murali_db View PostBike is 8 months old with 2000kms on the odo, it must be a rare case for fuel line to be clogged . Will ask service technician.
I say divide and conquer is the best method to diagnose the problem.
Let's get the problem sorted out starting with smaller steps.Regards,

Re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
I used to fill only from shell and very rarely from BP, that might also be the case but still that must be a long term effect i guess. I am planning to ask the technician to ride it first and get his comments, following which will discuss with him on the above points and check it one by one, as you said divide and conquer is the case then.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostIt could be dirty fuel too.

UPDATE :
Folks i took her to service on saturday, technician said those minor issues must be due to Fuel clogging as even small adulteration's matter it seems. I once filled in one very small petrol bunk for 100rs it was a emergency i doubt that bunk now . There was no throttle play at all, after setting it to 3mm the ride quality is far far better and reduced a lot of pressure from the palm, he also adviced me about the clutch play i adjusted, to adjust the Clutch nut in most cases and do only minor adjustments in the upper clutch cable adjuster.
Throttle cable lubrication is not the issue, technician said they open and check those things only after 10k kms and it wont loose lubrication so easily as its covered well.
Planning to stick with 1 or two petrol bunks from now on.
Feeling good now, ride quality is very smooth.
Thank you for all your suggestionsRespect the brotherhood Ride for the one behind you, anyone can twist the throttle. When you are in need be responsible.

Re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Hi Folks,
In recent times there seems to be too much traffic in my daily commute route, where i have to go inches for 15 to 20 mins within a 1 km distance. During this time the tank near our thighs gets heated and i cant lock my thighs over the tank due to the heat. Anybody faced the same ?
One more question, if the temperature at your place is between 33 C to 40 C ,how much time does it take for the radiator fan to kick in ? . For me I feel within 15mins of my ride the fan kicks in to cool it down.
Thanks in advance for your answers.Respect the brotherhood Ride for the one behind you, anyone can twist the throttle. When you are in need be responsible.
