Re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
That is very very reasonable for an i4. Kawasaki ones aren't cheap if and when the replacement is due that's for sure. I still feel this is one of the most under rated bikes in India. Honda has given a solid package with the components/parts cost that makes it laughable to maintain and run.Originally posted by hgps View PostAlmost all of my usage has been in city commutes. Not bumper to bumper traffic but still my riding requires frequent gear shifts. Got the whole clutch kit along with new clutch cable for 6500/-. Will get it fitted soon.

This is what many don't mention about service cost. Honda would be definitely cheaper than kawasaki and truimph and maybe the 790/890 duke but is more expensive a bit on paper, but a great bike nonetheless. Hope they bring out the cb650r in the future.Originally posted by shv18 View PostThat is very very reasonable for an i4. Kawasaki ones aren't cheap if and when the replacement is due that's for sure. So the bike completed 5 years on 20th Aug. The odo is around 29600.
No issues as such. Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 which had put around feb have literally transformed the bike. So much so that I my greed for an upgrade has subsided quite a lot.
The service is due and I plan to take her for service next month.

5 year anniversary without any bike photos? Good to see you munching miles. How long did Angel GTs last?Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostSo the bike completed 5 years on 20th Aug. The odo is around 29600.

I will post some pics very soon.Originally posted by hgps View Post5 year anniversary without any bike photos? Good to see you munching miles. How long did Angel GTs last?
Getting Lazy these days.
Angel GTs lasted pretty good. I think I clocked around 13-14K KMs on them. They still had pretty good tread on them, but I had those on for around 2.5 - 3 years.
I think they had their quota of heat cycles and had started to feel a bit hard. I could have pushed them for a few KMs more, but the bike needed some change and I really wanted to try something even softer and spice things up a bit.
I feel for an object which means so much and has such a high pleasure/content quotient in my life, a few KMs less on a tyre is acceptable for the feel and fun a new set gives.

What tyre pressure you used to keep on your angel GTs? I keep 40psi on my rear angel GT, while i got diablo rosso II on front last week, side wall says never exceed 40psi but what is the optimum, confused on that part.Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostI will post some pics very soon.

Also is it normal to have front steering feel noticeably heavy with new front tyre? The tyre changing guy recommended servicing steering head bearings, says its regular servicing part at 20,000 KMs.There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

So every time I get air checked, I go for 36-42 which is the standard air pressure for most tires of this size. For slightly rougher roads, you can go for 2 Psi less each corner for 34-40 without sacrificing tyre life a lot.Originally posted by hgps View PostWhat tyre pressure you used to keep on your angel GTs? I had a very peculiar issue with my front. I felt the bike did not turn in equally on both sides. One side needed more effort than the other. It was pretty odd and honestly felt unnerving especially at slow speeds. I spoke to a few technically sound friends and 2 reason came up. Steering bearings becoming over tight or uneven wear of the front tyre. The 2nd part didn't make much sense to me as I never expected uneven wear on a motorcycle front tyre on road use.
When I went for servicing, they recommended changing the top and bottom steering head bearings to which I agreed. Didnt make much of a difference. When I changed the tyres, the bike felt normal. So in my case, most likely it was the uneven wear between left and ride side on the front tyre. Still cant explain why it must have happened.
What pressure you keep on the front tyre? I can actually feel the difference between 36 and 34 in front. 36 feels more agile and 34 feels a tiny bit slower but more comfortable on rougher roads.

Re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
I haven't checked what pressure they filled after tyre change as i didn't get time to ride the bike again. Will try 36psi and report my observations.
There's one more thing i'd ask, Are you running your akra with db killer installed or w/o db killer?
Asking because i have a decat setup, end can running without db killer. But ever since i got this setup, i noticed that the bike takes a fraction of a second longer to start now. On stock exhaust i'd start in 0.5 seconds of cranking, after decat + new end can, it takes a bit longer, like 0.8 to 1 second of cranking to start.
No other mods on the bike, stock intake and no FC installed. There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

Sure do let me know of your observations.
I am running my exhaust with the DB Killer. I havn't had any such issues.
If your bike is taking a slightly longer crank, battery could be 1 area to get checked.
If you have de-cat system, I would highly recommend PC5 and please go for PC5 or Rapidbike only. I wouldnt recommend Bazzaz. Just my personal opinion.
Many minor imperfections in fueling on bigger bikes in our riding conditions will be very hard to notice. If these problems persist for long, they can have consequences.
The safer approaches are better in our cases in my opinion.

Hey Rachit, has the aftermarket exhaust increased your ground clearance?Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostSure do let me know of your observations.

Honestly I can’t find much difference. Many people feel it does increase, but to me even if it does, it’s marginal.

Re: My Honda CBR650F. EDIT: Track Day at BIC on PG-53
Hi guys,
Can we use 8AH Amaron or Exide battery for the CBR 650F? This costs 1/3rd of the cost of batteries like Varta/Yuasa. Crank1 available at 7K.
But I was considering Amaron and Exide as an option. Anyone using these on their big bikes? Kindly let know.
