I think I have never been this happy to go to office in the morning! The 12km distance to office was covered in record time! It was in fact too short
They say one shouldnt be sitting for long while working, so I get up every now and then, take a look at the beauty in the parking lot and come back

I am not sure if I understood the jelly monster reference but I was in same position as you in the past, drooling at every sbk thread in xbhp

Thanks a lot Sree. You cant complain about the price of BMW in Germany, it cant get any cheaper than that! I will post all the details about the bike soon.

Re: Chasing my dreams... The S1000RR comes home!

This is when I saw my bike for the first time in showroom!

                  Brief info about the bike:

This was first reg on March 2014, ridden for only 4450kms and it came with BMW tank bag, tail bag, anti theft system and HID for low beam. Rest everything is completely stock. It was part of BMW Premium Selection so they give 3 yrs warranty and BMW assistance. They also did the service before delivery so the next service is after a year or 10000kms whichever is earlier. It is very convenient for me as I don't have to worry about any thing for the coming months apart from changing the tyre after few thousand kms (The rear tyre seems like it can do another 5k kms).

Before taking delivery, I bought R&G frame sliders, fork protectors and swingarm spools and asked them to install it and they luckily they did it without extra charges!

I dont want to mention the price as the already jealous and hating people might just lose it But its very easy to do the math, just divide the Indian price without reg/insurance etc by 2 and reduce a couple of lakhs and you get the price of brand new one. Since this is 2yrs old, reduce the price further by 20% or so and you can make an estimate.

In the past two days, I have now ridden for 200 odd kms and boy, I am loving every bit of it. One drawback I found was that, I need few minutes after I park the bike, I cant seem to simply move away without admiring it wonder how long this feeling will last! Also my commute to office which is 12kms mostly on highways gets over in 9min or so, by the time I really start enjoying I reach office! Wish I stayed a bit far

Sorry for the piece by piece update btw, I need sometime to just sit down and write the whole story but cant do it on weekdays. By the end of this week, there will be lots of updates

                          Some mobile uploads,

Got a paddock stand yesterday. Branded as official motoGP stand but I doubt it , for around 5k INR its very well made though and feels well worth it.

Now I have to buy chain lube!

I am spending way too much time in my basement parking looking at it! People might think I am crazy to simply stand and stare at it!

Totally! It feels very light and not just while riding, also while pushing it around in my parking space. Regarding flickability, I cant really compare it with any other litre class SBKs as I have never ridden any, and its not fair to compare it with street bikes like Duke 690, 1290, but yes, its very flickable

Btw Z800 is very popular here as well, have seen quite a few on roads and its as VFM as in India, considering the fact that there are lot more bikes here in the same segment. In fact even its predecessor, the Z750 was quite popular as well. All the best for the RRs btw, whichever one you decide to go for

Re: Chasing my dreams... The S1000RR comes home!

Today I finally decided to do a photoshoot with the bike and few of my friends were also there to capture the pics. Here are the results

                              The RR!

                              With matching tee

The lens flare adding a nice effect. It wasnt intentional btw

HID for low beam, normal halogen for high beam.

                              Trying a different angle.

Instead of having one single piece of fairing cover the whole side portion of the bike, they have multiple pieces all blending together seamlessly

BMW badging on the engine casing.

The LED tail lamps. There are also two air vents on the side panels btw

Bike comes with this tank pad.

Left switchgear, that trip-lap-set is one of the most used button to go to different menus and stuff.

Right switchgear, the heated grips on this sure feels nice

Comes with an adjustable steering damper, it must be in its stock setting, havent bothered to check that out yet.

The triple clamp with fully adjustable forks. Right now its all in default setting!

I just love the look from this angle, can stare at it all day

Pillion seat is very very small

The fuel cap. The tank capacity is 17.5L out of which 4L is reserve. Should give a tank range of 230 odd kms before using last couple of litres. It needs only 95 RON petrol btw, which is the lowest grade available here. I havent tried 98 RON yet.

That aluminium thing you see on fuel tank is for the BMW tank bag. The bag kind of gets locked on to those holes so it stays very stable.

                              The swingarm.

It has stock tyres which are Bridgestone Battlax BT016. It seems to do a fantastic job.

Brembo brakes, one finger pull is enough.

                              RR enjoying some greenery

                              Riding through the forest.

So it was a very productive day today
