Sorry for a very delayed update. There was not much riding in winter apart from occasional office commute and other short rides. Riding on cold roads and cold tyres offer very less grip and if there is frost on the road, its simply too risky. I was naive to think that I would ride all year round, like in India But now its perfect for riding so there will be more updates.

I had ridden the bike for almost 10k kms in the first 7 months so here is an update on that.

The original brake pads look good, will easily go another couple of thousand kms or more depending on how I ride but I have already bought EBC brake pads and I will get it changed before track days this year.

These EBC pads are supposed to be much better than stock Brembo pads while also costing half that amount, so its a win-win! For two pairs of front pads and one pair of rear, I paid 87 pounds which comes to 7.5k INR in total.

The original chain and sprockets also seem to be fine. I read in forums that they last more than 20k kms so I dont have to worry about it anytime soon. Also its quite easy to maintain chain here compared to India as it hardly gets dirty and since I use dry lube, it doesnt spray around and one spray lasts more than 1000kms.

Not much else to say really, I thought I would somewhat get used to the power but no, still scares me every time I whack the throttle!

But from what I see, I felt that Kawasaki still has a good hold in EU among Jap bikes. In Germany Kawasaki was one Japanese brand I encountered in too many places.

Indeed Kawa is the most popular Japanese brand here, esp the Z series.

Yes, in Pune costs are bit lower than Bangalore. So locally few things are still relatively cheap - Gurgaon/Delhi are cheaper.
Finally the rim is expected to arrive by 15th Dec 2016 give or take couple of days.

You may be aware that BMW Motorrad is expected to get very aggressive in 2017-18 after launch of BMW G310R here. They will assemble many products here and prices will come down. This will surely give tough time to other premium brands. Did a trackday at the one and only F1 Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium

It is one of the most famous circuits in the world, arguably the most beautiful and also one of the most challenging, it was an incredible experience putting the RR through its paces though the bike is capable of far more than my current skill level

Also the main reason none of the major motorcycle races dont happen here is because some corners are too dangerous with limited run off areas.

And on 2 May 2017 its been exactly one year since I bought my S1000RR so this was my way of celebrating it

This was our pitbox. The other two bikers in the box were really friendly folks and quite helpful which you can generalize to pretty much everyone present that day!

Seeing this made me wonder how many of the f1 racing legends have graced the same pit boxes with their presence

Inline 12! It was nice to see those classic bikes on such a track. They are more than 30yrs old!

The place is huge with so many buildings/offices spread out, which is expected for an f1 track.

It was quite a tiring day in the end, those high speed corners, fast accelerations and braking can be quite physically and mentally exhausting. After every 20 min session, I was thirsty as hell when I reached the pit box!

First let me congratulate you for your stride the BMW S1000RR. Udupi to Germany is a long journey. But, you have not given up your passion for riding bikes. I read your experiences and saw those beautiful Vlogs. You ride and write from your heart. A true passionate biker. For many the passion for biking falls off once into work and family plus commitments and cautions. Wishing you many more years of safe riding. Regards. Prakash.

Hi there ,nice video .Just curious whether there are instances of wildlife straying onto these country roads specially since it looks very woody . Love listening to the inline 4's - much better than listening to any music :-) .

The only wildlife that can stray onto roads are deers. Usually they have sign boards where deers frequent so one can be on the lookout. Also during daytime I havent seen one on road yet, saw once at night while riding on top of a mountain in Italy.
