Yes, I remember you were the only rider who used to ride around on your Beemer.Originally posted by Haroon View Post
@Aryan- the BMW Jeddah group for many years was a one man army- Myself. Its only about 2 years since the showroom was set up and more guys joined in. Ofcourse, its an informal group with mostly mature riders, so no troublemakers and unlike the Harley group, we welcome all brands of bikes in our group. There is also a guy who ocassionally brings his Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter.
But, good to see the 'group' taking shape.
And yeah, if possible, please do post a few pictures of the Suzuki Burgman 650. I just love that 'scooter' (if it can be called that!)

@ silver_falcon_46. You are really really into BMW. Any tattoos also
@ moeed- Marhaba. BTW, they have a bigger BMW group in Riyadh (also have KTMs). They ride every friday morning.
@ Aryan. The Suzuki Burgman owner is a Columbian guy who is a Saudia pilot who is in his late 50s (we nicknamed him Speedy-victor!). He rides once in while as he is on some flight most times. But I shall catch him sometime. BTW, he is an ace rider coz inspite of his age in the twisties this guy puts some of the sports bikes also to shame. He rides like a possessed man.

@ Ken. Seeing the overwhelming response from everybody, I shall do a small orientation with pics on the features unique to BMWs as well as the handlebar controls & their functions etc which are different from the jap bikes.Originally posted by ken cool View PostWill surely look forward to it.

Sure its a restricted place for many things, but for biking there are no problems provided you have a valid saudi bike license and registration papers. Your friend in Saudi may be surprised to hear that even women regularly ride here as pillion. I have taken my wife for a few rides. Another xbhp member & his wife rode all the way from Al Khobar to Dubai and back on their bike.Originally posted by Binoy View Postby the way as ur from saudi... the rules are very tight... isn't it??? did u guys faced any probs is forming such a group? coz my friend is in saudi and he described saudi as an "OPEN JAIL"...

Like I said earlier in this thread- only 1000 nos of the S1000RR will be manufactured for the first year as a pre-condition for BMW entering the WSBK championship and deliveries should commence here from December 2009 (deliveries in Europe/USA will start earlier). I was told by the dealer that it may be priced about US$ 1,500 to 2,000 higher than the jap liter bikes.Originally posted by Binoy View Postwhat about the new BMW S1000RR... likes to hear about it...

None yet. Please do bring in a report of all the unique features of BMWs compared to the japs. Would be interesting.
