Papers are in order. Tax has to be paid and fitness certificate has to be obtained. He has even got the owners manual, thats what he says and a few spares.
Was wondering it would start. Or else have to put in the jeep and bring it home. Does this yezdi deluxe have a cdi ignition or cb point? Its a 89 model. Is the battery required to start?

How many years Tax, and when was the last FC done?
Also, when you say papers are in order, that mean nothing is pending ..

Its a CB Points one. i too have a 89 deluxe and i am using it regularly.

No, not atall. just clean the carb, clean the points, clean the plug. the bike should start.

He hasn't paid the tax for the last 5yrs. Plus insurance has to be done will ask him for something around 12k to 15k. He is an NRI.

Will clean the points n the carb m the plug.

Hi Sanjay, both the questions are self complimentary, decent condition and 25-30 K.

Minimum 50, if the seller is genuine. I saw a Yezdi Deluxe 175CC not in a great condition for 65K.

You are right buddy! Asked a yezdi mechanic nearby and he said the cost would be between 60-70k!
175 for 65k :-O thats too high!!

Yezdi is home...but needs work. Kicker is jammed, wont move an inch! Inside of the tank is flaking. Wheels are free. Tyres ok. Electrical no idea.
Have spoken to a yezdi specialist. Will ask him a quote of the labour n spares excluding painting.
How much should i be looking forwad to with full engine overhaul?

I saw 2-3 references of self start done on road king! One OLX ad from 2013 says it had self start. One more guy from team-bhp mentions his friend said to him he had done it, but he personally has't seen it (cant get hold of him to confirm.. I'm not a member). I'm curious is it possible add self start to road king (1996)?

if kicker is jammer, not sure what the damage is, could be a totally rusted bore / piston, or jammed.. only after you remove it.

I would say, the cost would be approx 6-7K to fix all these, but if the damage is less, then lesser cost. post some pics.

Yes sir, ppl have been doing this in bangalore, though the cost incurred is very high. Lot of modifications.

But if you ask me personally, i would be happy to kick start the yezdi or Jawa.

Thanks Srini for reply! I'm happy to kick it! Said that, I want to ride it ALL the time in Bangalore. With so many signals and long stop and go traffic, I think it would be nice to have self start option to use every now and then.

If any one had done this in Bangalore or know any mechanic who has done it, Please share contact. Appreciate any help.

Congratulations Bro!

Actually i had the same issue when i got hold of my Yezdi last year. The kicker was jammed. Eventually the kicker was released after i put it in gear. Did you try putting it in gear and kick starting the bike? Sorry if you already know this..i know it pretty basic for our bikes..but in case if you are new to these bikes. Try it!

Please include details like the year of manufacture, model and how many owners was the bike with before the dealer laid his hands on it. Most of the bikes that have changed multiple hands tend to be problematic.

Include the pics of the bike if you have them. Your experience with test ride would go a long way in understanding the present state of things and the likely cost of restoration if you want to go for one.

As a rule of thumb dealer sold vehicles are more expensive and sometimes even missing some crucial internals parts( replaced with spurious spares).

All these rules, as long as you have a collection of bikes to choose from.

So see the bike, if it looks ok, and runs decent. Go for it. There is no guideline value or market value, It purely depends on your luck.
