Welcome to the club of learners......do you think I got things right first time ? Like I always say..I was born earlier to most members here and so got the opportunity to learn early..that is all the difference between you and me..
Glad things got sorted out and YOU DID LEARN MANY THINGS now.
    Good Luck to you always...

Looking good Major. why is there a seat beading? looks odd. and how about chroming the indicators? OE mirrors will be better.

Glad you liked it Doc inspite of its many flaws. I couldn't source a rear grab rail. The beading was to compensate for the lack of the chrome grab rail. I guess it didn't turn out as intended. My bike had regular black indicators originally so I went for these. OE mirrors are again difficult to source so I chose the Avenger ones.

There are still a hundred and one things to do - sort out the alignment of the rear tyre, fix a chain cover, grab rail and leg guard. The horn sounds weak so maybe I'll change that too. But all this after I can sort out the carb and the oil leak from the clutch cover!!!

Oh i didnt know you didnt have those. You could have included them in the list you sent me. Do you want me to search for the grab rail and mirrors?

Doc, i don't need to amuse you but let me tell you this. You've already done so much for this bike that it becomes embarrassing to keep asking you for favours.

So, i'm first going to move heaven and earth in looking for those things here in Delhi. In a few months time maybe i'll knock on your door again!

                  • @Rookieraj good restoration...the letters of Kawasaki on the petrol tank and KB125 on the side shield are too big and seem to take the charm out of the whole Pic. I see a small end extension on the left handle bar beyond the grip..have you added any bar end weights ? The metal seat beading makes it look more like RX100.
Your effort shows in the restoration.

Anna, thank you for all the help and motivation.

Yeah, the stickering has become a little too big. I'll try to change it sometime later.

And yes, those are bar end weights. I'd bought a Platina handle earlier but I didn't like it and it stood out like a sore thumb. Yamdoot and Sarin too pointed it out so I bought a Pulsar 150 KS handle bar. It isn't the same as the KB but very similar in the profile. Now this handle had the provision for the bar end weights so I thought why not? I believe the weights reduce the handle vibes to an extent. Was I wrong here?

The beading does make it look like an RX but its fait accompli now. And I was doing everything for the first time!

                      • I also see a fan there. Was the engine running when the pic was taken?

Yes Doc, the fan was set up to provide the air-flow during the initial start-up as the fins would not be able to cool the engine while it was stationary.

                          I read that somewhere.

Perfect! place the fan more closer to the block.
Btw, if i really find a grab handle and mirrors do you seriously want me to get them?

As I said earlier Doc, I'm embarrassed to admit it but yes, I would seriously love to have the grab rail and the mirrors. If its not too much trouble, may I also request you to look out for a leg guard?

try to shape the chrome beading on the seat with the lines of the rear panel instead of the curvy look, i bet it will look good!
