Hey Yamdoot! Great job man..rookie was down on luck last month or so..this will surely cheer him up some!!!Originally posted by rookieraj View Postpacked in Apr 2010. now that offers a glimmer of hope, however faint it may be.
another thing i've noticed is that not all part numbers have changed. i'm talking about the new XX###### format being followed by BAL these days.True blue smoke makes the devil's blood run cold

Hello Guys,
I have 98 Model KB 125, lying in dust since last 3 years. Its fuel Tank got rusty totally and had to replace with Bajaj 4S Champion's fuel tank but it spoiled the whole looks and dynamics of Bike.
Now I am inspired by this thread, and decided to rebuild it again.
Can somebody suggest, where I can find spare fuel tank of KB 125 or 100 in NCR region.
Pl help..

a small status update...
the engine's assembled (almost). in my anxiety to check if the crankcase had a leak, i poured in the transmission oil. there is a leak - a very minor one though, like 2 drops in a night. i'll try to identify the leak and fix it.
the funny part is that i did not fix the kick starter before installing the clutch cover. so, when i finally installed the kicker, to my utter surprise, it would not retract. a few frantic searches on the net revealed that the kick start spring should be wound around the kick start spring guide and that means a little shove and pull with the nose pliers. the result - i had to drain the engine oil, open the clutch cover and fix the spring properly. lesson learnt - don't pour engine oil before checking kick start function, gear shift etc.
the DIY rebuild is taking time but there's so much to learn - almost to the point of becoming wary of psr anna's signature "when was the last time you did something for the first time?"Last edited by rookieraj; 12-08-2011, 03:10 PM.

What you are learning now will get embedded into your system, and 20 years later if i ask you about it, you will be able to guide with correct details...It is a painful process, but well worth it, because down the line you develop a meticulous systematic way of doing not just this work, but any work you do...which is the reason for my Signature ..Originally posted by rookieraj View Posta small status update...

P.S. Watch out for the Rotary disc orientation, and the 2T oil feed tube "O" ring placement, inside crankcase..if you fail to observe the disc orientation, bike will not accelerate, and missing the "O" ring will lead to gear box oil consumed by engine. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
