      • sir im no expert its guys like yamdoot , digbore psr sir etc who are experts
as for the handlebar go for ones from the classic pulsar 150(the round headlamp ones ) its the same as kbs ,if you cant find go for the regular 150/180 setup it comes pretty close , do not go for p200 ones as they are very low for kbs the oem ones cost under rs 300

        • You can rebuild the engine yourself...its cool to do. That way you know whats going in and whats coming out.

Thanks Rookie. Unfortunately over the years i lost many mags due to bad storage and neglect. I had kept almost each and every issue of 'Indian Auto' and 'Car&Bike International' magazines from 1990 to atleast 1999. Many are lost.

I'll see if i can start a thread but confused if i'll be allowed to post in the twostroke forum here.

                      • its very gracious of you to say that kb100. i sought your permission because courtesies should never be overlooked, no matter what the relationship may be. one good act deserves another, so i gave a copy to Bluesmoke.

ps:- and i'm saying this publicly now - will you please stop 'sirring' me? please..

                        warm regards

                        • i met Bluesmoke today. we had a little chat. he had a look at my bike and talked about his own experience while restoring his KB100. i had a look, a very brief one (parking woes in the South Ex market), at his repainted RX135. i was completely bowled over by the professional quality of the paint job and the chroming looked fabulous. it also sounded good too. his bike is lucky to have a dedicated owner like him.

anyway, back to my KB125. Bluesmoke's verdict - its in pretty good shape to be restored and as i have all major parts available, it should not pose much of a problem. nice encouraging words; i only wish i could put in more time in the rebuild.

First step - removing the metal sheaths of the bearings. thank you kb100 for the tip.

                              • best of luck , and dont keep the bearings in the open like that for too long keep them covered , dust has a way of ruining bearings, did you get the scooters old tyre , keep it under the crankcases while you drive the bearings in , if you are doing it yourself, im posting a picture as to how it would look after you assemble the gears and apply the liquid gasket, do not forget to [put the ball bearing on the clutch axle
