My KB125 Rebuild

Was down with viral fever for a couple of days so couldn't work on the bike. Felt a little better today so went after the stubborn bolts with full vengeance. Managed to open those bolts finally - they were torqued very high but there's nothing that some kerosene/wd40 and two pairs of strong forearms can't pry open. Oops... made that statement a mite too soon. After removing the primary gear and the magneto flywheel, its the screws that won't give way this time. The screws securing the rotatory valve cover, crankcase, stator etc are again very highly torqued. I guess I will have to get the impact screw driver. Spoke to a mechanic who advised to get the engine tool kit from Karol Bagh so that's where I'll head tomorrow.

the screws securing the crank cases are tightned using impact drivers/impact wrenchs ,they can be removed only by using the same ,Originally posted by rookieraj View PostWas down with viral fever for a couple of days so couldn't work on the bike. do quote the model of the bike when buying the tools as most special tools are engine specific....and best of luck
PS; if possible do download and watch A bike is born by Mark Evans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Bike_is_Born#Engineering
it will be a great help as well as a good morale booster for anybody interested in rebuilding their rides on their ownLast edited by kb100; 03-12-2011, 11:11 PM.Kawasaki KB100/enduro/125 substitute parts list http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/508615-post105.html

Rotary valve cover
Finally got the problem with my profile resolved!
I don't think I should start a new thread for my queries regarding kb100.
So, does anybody knows where I can get a rotary valve cover for KB100 2-stroke?
@kb100: I tried the webside of zodix but they don't have a catalog .. mailed them but no reply ...
Divye.

Rookie - I don't know how I missed this thread so far but your efforts are truly inspiring and I wish you all the best with rebuild, especially sourcing of the parts.
A die hard KB fan there, it still is my Primary bike and I know it will be so very special for you as you are rebuilding it completely by yourself - a very deep connection indeed.
Looking forward to see her again stretching her limbs

try mailing bajaj about it (dont bother mailing to the customer care dept but instead try their sales or spareparts division) if you still cant find it get an old one from the junkOriginally posted by divyekhanna View PostFinally got the problem with my profile resolved!

Hi guys,
I 've been out of station for the past four weeks and hence no progress on the restoration project. I'll be away for another four weeks and therefore no work on the bike (or what remains of it after stripping it down) till May end. The professional front keeps me busy these days; a man after all has to earn his living.
While away, I've taken time to scour the spares market of Indore. I've managed to get a few things:-
Side panel (after market)
Gasket kit (after market)
Oil seal kit (after market)
Accelerator cable (genuine spare)
Choke cable (after market)
Sppedometer & Tachometer cables (after market)
Front brake cable (after market)
Tail light assembly (after market)
Ignition lock assembly (Minda)
Electrical harness (Swiss)
Side Indicators (Minda)
Regulator (Swiss)
Rectifier (Swiss)
Carburetor Boot (after market)
Meter assembly (Genuine spare - Pricol)
Ignition Coil (after market)
Fuse box (after market)
Battery rubber bands (after market)
Looking forward to your comments.
