Hello guys, I recently bought a 3rd owner Yamaha RX 135 4 speed model 2003. The guy told me it was a one kick start but it never starts with one kick. Also, I have to use choke naturally. The problem after starting is that engine suffocates with throttling and stalls and goes off. Same is the case while riding, engine stalls with throttling and then suddenly picks up almost throwing me back, weird and funny feeling though lol. Is there any problem with carburetor?

There are various possibilities.
Firstly check for water deposited in fuel tank. Get the carb cleaned.
Another possibility is the fuel outlet from the tank. See if the outlet is not choked.
I had faced a similar problem in my Rx and the culprit was this outlet which got narrowed after painting the inside of the fuel tank.Code:It ain't important how fast u are drivin, its how u drive fast.

Clean the carburettor throughly with either brake fluid or carburettor cleaner spray. Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Hello in a worst case scenario can I use 20-40 oil as a substitute for 2t? Considering my geographical locatoin it is slighltly difficult to come across 2t oil at all times. I am not using it as a premix but pouring it in the oil tank, would it damage the oil pump? I understand that it would lead to more fouling of the plug.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Approach a nearby petrol pump and ask they can provide 2t oil in bulk like a carton full of 2t sachets or 20ltr can.Originally posted by Manan View PostHello in a worst case scenario can I use 20-40 oil as a substitute for 2t? Another query that I had was what are the exact parts that I require to convert my 4 speed to a 5 speed gear box? if some one can provide me the parts required and its numbers I would be grateful. Part numbers would be best.

Perhaps spelling would help your cause, or perhaps you suffer the conditions as you have mentioned. But hey no issues, if digging is what I have to do, digging I would; rather keep such toxin to yourself.Originally posted by Mr.Boss View PostNot exactly, only people are here with dead brain or eyes who couldn't find the answers that were discussed n number of times earlier.

original shogun ones, were the popular choice , you can use the ape ones if you can figure out the wiringOriginally posted by acs1207 View PostWith a rewound coil, which RR should I use to get higher current for the headlight ?Kawasaki KB100/enduro/125 substitute parts list http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/508615-post105.html

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
I guess the Ape one will make it full dc, right ? The battery is only 4 or 5 Ah. Will it pull the full load, like 60/55w hl, 5w tail light, 20w brake light, horn n indicators ?Originally posted by kb100 View Postoriginal shogun ones, were the popular choice , you can use the ape ones if you can figure out the wiring
Memory is the issue here. I let go of my 1st RX nearly 2 decades back and got another one 3 years back. I don't even remember the wiring on the RX. My mechanic know more of mechanical than of electrical. He just know what to connect.sigpic
