P.s: even if you're running on the oil pump...its a good habit to put a pouch of oil available at petrol bunks when you fill the tank completely.... Helps a lot to maintain the tank

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
I had an issue with my gears slipping every now and then. Opened up then case and saw that one of the spring tension on the shifter had gone. Got that replaced and there is not more gear slips. However, now I have another issue. My clutch has become a little tight, and the play becomes very less while I'm on an ongoing ride. I experience this while on traffic. Also, my gear shifts are tight at the same, which I believe is due to the clutch issue. The mech replaced the friction placed (which are after market for sure) when the shifter spring was replaced. Could the friction plates be the issue?

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Thanks for the input mate. I guess he used a 20w40 grade. Suprisingly it's getting better now after a few kms running. I have any planned to replace the springs in case this issue persists. My next query is regarding the lighting on the bike. Have heard a lot about Ruby electricals here in Bangalore. Does anyone have personal experience with them. The real issue is I'm unsure if my coil is rewound so thought Il get it checked with these guys. Any inputs highly appreciated.

Thank you so much Nitin. Planning to visit them soon. And happy to see you still around here.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostMy 86 model's RX100 rewinding was done in Ruby electrical around 7-8 years back. Headlight is still performing well (by RX standards)

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)

Is this a genuine cyclinder? The seller claims its standard and ready to give it for 8k. Should I go for it?

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Helo Guys,
This should be my first post in Xbhp. I have a question related to the engine oil used in RX series.
One of my friends advised me to use the Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-40 Synthetic oil in my RX.
Is it safe to use the synthetic oil ? Will it affect performance

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Hey guys... I'm new to culture of biking... I own a Honda hornet..
But after hearing legacy of Rx 100 I'm thinking about buying one second hand... Inspiration being a guy whom i saw with ARAI helmet and a very clean and restored rx100... The bike looked and sounded so good...
1. My question is what is the cost in second hand market for the bike ?
2. What all do i need to do to restore it ?
3. Are parts available for Rx 100 ?
4 . How much maintenance it requires ?
5. Can i do it myself ?
6. Finally, how much will it cost me ?

4TL10 standard bore is definitely worth getting for 8k, don't bother too much about the series.Originally posted by VKJ3 View PostMr Boss, appreciate your response. Do you think this is a good grab. Any thoughts about the I-1 series?
