Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Electronic tacho Is easier for installation. But getting one is the hardest part. Shogun or shaolin tacho can be used for this. But again getting one is difficult. People ask gold price for these. So get ready to bear that. If mechanical tacho is ok you can install rxz tacho. All parts are readily available. Forget about pulsar tacho or any other 4 stroke tacho since the reading won't be correct in that on a 2 stroke bike. Or if you are good in electronics there is a tread for that. Search for that. You can change the circuit and convert it to a 2 stroke tacho.Originally posted by powerShift View Post

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Is some oil leakage normal in Rx100?
There is always 1-2 drops of oil below rear brake pedal whenever I park my bike after few kilometers of run. Also the shaft of rear brake pedal remain oily all the time.
I always use Castrol 20W40 engine oil and change it after every 2000 kilometers, and there is approximately 50ml oil drop after 1200-1400 kms which I have to top up every time with fresh oil(is this normal too) ?Safety is a Cheap and Effective Insurance Policy !!!

For right side replace oil pump oil seals, oil pump shaft seal, oil pump gasket
For Left side check the collar and oil seal under the sprocket, neutral switch gasket

Open up the 2T pump cover yesterday and found out that pump is the real culprit here for the leakage [emoji20]Originally posted by yam View Post+1

Asked my mechanic about the availability of the seals for the pump but he was unable to source any [emoji20]
Pump is working alright and oil flow in tube is also normal, just few drops of leakage from the moving shaft!!Safety is a Cheap and Effective Insurance Policy !!!

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Please be double sure if the leak is from the seal area or the shaft has some play. If its shaft then then replacing the seals will not help.Originally posted by jatinarya View PostPicture of the Oil leak from the Pump

Thanks for the suggestion.Originally posted by augmentor View PostPlease be double sure if the leak is from the seal area or the shaft has some play. If its shaft then then replacing the seals will not help.
How can I check whether the shaft play is normal or not?

Regarding this issue, the 2T pump seals have been replaced during the 2nd week of January and since then there is no oil leakage from the casing. Now the consumption rate also becomes normal like earlier , i.e., around 700kms per litre
Thanks Naveen Reddy for sending them, as I was worried sick thinking that my 2T pump is going to be kaput

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
As one problem(of 2T pump) is resolved completely and I have once again gained my peace of mind, I was free to do something to make my headlight throw better. So read many posts about upgrading the stock headlight of Rx-100 in team-bhp and also here in xBhp. By the help of those posts I have bought the primary stuff, i.e., a Autopal make DCM Toyota reflector, a P43WT bulb holder, and lastly a H4 Osram halogen bulb(60/55W).
But now I am stuck at the wiring part as the connectors from the old bulb holder are different from the new one. The main confusion is that the old holder only has 3 single wires for high, low and ground as shown in the below pic
And the new P43WT holder has 2 wires from each(high, low, ground), i.e., total 6 wires which further bundled together to form 2 connectors. I may be wrong in explaining this so refer to the pics below and tell me how to join this one to the stock wiring.
Now the most important questions :
1) Should I done this mod, as mine is a locally winding done 12V Rx-100?
2) Will it cause any adverse effect to the electrical system?Safety is a Cheap and Effective Insurance Policy !!!

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
It's not 6 different wires. 3 wires from the bulb holder distributed to 2 different sockets. You can use either of the connectors and leave the other free.Originally posted by jatinarya View PostAnd the new P43WT holder has 2 wires from each(high, low, ground), i.e., total 6 wires which further bundled together to form 2 connectors.
