Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
hi guys
i am looking for an RX in Mumbai (Thane)
i am unsure about which one to go for RX135 - 4speed or 5speed since i am not aware of the practical difference between the two from usability point of view
i intend to use the bike for office commute, city rides as well as long rides
and for this purpose i was more keen towards the 5speed
i know all my queries can sound lame and are very basic... but i dont know where to do the home work from.. i some one can share some links to information.. please help me out
also, at what price can i expect an average conditioned 5speed in mumbai/thane
are there any specific variants/versions/year of mfg. to try searching for ?
thanks in advance !

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
I've seen Rx "100"s in very well maintained condition sell at 1l here at Coimbatore.Originally posted by Mr.Boss View PostYou mean to say 60k is low price for RX, be it 135 5 speed?
Max prices of modified rxs(mention of "100"s) were going to even 2l around 1-2 yrs back.
Many people were asking my friend's 135 4 speed which was in a well maintained condition for around 80-90k but he refused.
But now he is ready to sell at 50k(he has 3 more yrs of FC).
So a 5s version must be atleast 10-15k more than a 4s version.
And that'll be around 50-60k.
Ofc that is cheap for a best maintained Rx.
But if condition is not a worry, you can get a normal running condition Rx for 30k.
It's up to one to decide.I dont ride my bike to add days to my life.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Do you remember about my friend's brother's modified Rx 100 I told about many days back. People here in Coimbatore have this craze in Coimbatore. They go experimenting with rxs and maxs and make a monster out of many 2 strokes. The bike I saw in sale for 2l was a heavily modified one. Do you remember of a guy I said who has a broken shogun due to unavailability of spares..... His Rx 100 was sight out for 80k-1l by many people here. But he said a big "no". It was a well maintained stock bike.Originally posted by kb100 View Post2lakhs for an rx100,care to elaborate
This hike in the market of Rx was one of the reasons I went for a KB....I loved an rd.... But if I ask my dad for an rd he'll kill me... So I tried to persuade him to get me an Rx.. But due to these high prices and also because of his love for his own kb.... So we rebuild it KB... And after riding KB,,, all the rxs and all the Dukes faded away..... Though my KB is slower than my fz or Apache... It is the most interesting bike to ride. The comfort and handling .... And all those knee downs in those corners.... Will make anyone who rides love the bike... And that is known only those who own or owned a KB...I dont ride my bike to add days to my life.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Can someone help me in explaining how to properly calibrate the 2t oil pump. I used to run the oil pump but stopped pouring oil in 2t tank for a long time and ran on premix. I poured shell 2t vsx the last day to the oil tank to run it through the pump, and I can suddenly feel there is a lot of smoke from my silencer after this. The engine feels smoother now compared to premix but there is a slight lag in performance. Wondering if there is a lot of oil flowing through the pump than required. Please shed some wisdom brothers.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Refer the workshop manual for calibration process...
P.s: Never let the pump run dry....If you plan on running premix then remove the pump...don't run it dry
