Nicely researched bro but for Indian jugad you can try bullet injector I suspect it should be reasonably priced and easy on the pocket + its of a bike so fitting and modding should be easy.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
hello friends...
plz help me with a problem regarding my rx100.
when I was restoring my rx, I changed the old wiring with a new one from swiss. but after a few days, my battery which was in very good condition became dead. afterwards I bought a new battery and then checked the charging, the mechanic said the charging is faulty and suggested me to replace the rectifier. so I changed the rectifier but the problem is still there.
if someone has thorough knowledge about it, then plz help me about the issue that is this a problem with the cable or with something else.

Check the coil-magnet for damage, they tend to weaken with age. Did you make any dc modifications? Like say twin horns, halogen or hid headlamp? If so remove those and rewire and maybe rewind the coil to match the power requirement. Also what year is your bike? If it came with a 6v system and you installed 12v wiring, that could cause the problem.
Hope this helps

Also heard Rx 135 has less magnetic output compared to 100, so I thought of changing the magnet if available only. :-)

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Guys, I am not sure where to post this, I am looking at an 2000 rx135 restored to good condition, how much can I pay for it? I have to keep in mind that next year I have to get the fitness certificate! and I have no idea about 2 stroke bikes, so what should I look for in terms of mechanicals and paper work.Biker @ heart

Depends on the condition. Few snaps should help in justifying the price.Originally posted by giridhar View Post2000 rx135 restored to good condition, how much can I pay for it?
Paper workOriginally posted by giridhar View Postwhat should I look for in terms of mechanicals and paper work.
- compare the frame & engine no on RC with the bike.
- check for any endorsements
- check if it is duplicate RC issued by RTO
Mechanical
- vehicle dynamics / behavior while accelerating and braking
- abnormal noise & vibration
- engine response to throttle (linear acceleration, clutch slippage, etc)

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Guys what is the top speed you've achieved on your rx100/135 's??
Also the distance in which you've achieved that speed...
I recently rebuilt my engine....(changed all the bearings, except for connecting rod)...
The workshop manual says top speed is 100 but my rx100 touched 110 on the stock speedo....
Also I don't have any chambers,stock piston(no oversize+stock bore G-1 series)....

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Hey guys! I have a '98 rx135 4s I bought recwntly. The exhaust sounded brilliant and I fell in love with it instantly. The exhaust has a very definite beat to it which I haven't noticed in other Rx's. When I'm cruising along and let go of the throttle, there are definite beats which have intervals of about 1-2 seconds when the speed is high. Also,at each and every beat, the bike jerks with engine braking. The previous owner told me it's the sign of a well tuned engine. I just want to know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Also, the engine has a rattling sound to it(maybe old crank bearings?). But my friend's recently reworked rx100 too has this sound. So does all the Rx's I've seen. Is this normal?

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
Dear Members, Kindly answer my question.
I have YAMAHA RX-100 (1986-Original ckd Japan Model)
During last servicing I changed my accelerator wire.
At that time I also topped up my 2T Oil Tank to full.
Yesterday i realized that, In just 821 KMs, my 2T Oil tank is almost empty.
Is it correct consumption rate of 2T Oil for YAMAHA RX-100? Or is there anything wrong??
Please reply

Re: Frequently Asked Questions (Yamaha RX Series)
^Consumption of 2t oil will vary according to throttle position. Just can't draw the line as how much should it last. If you ride throttle position greater than half, then you are likely to use more oil as it requires for the engine run at higher rpm. From the kms you have posted, I would say, it is decent.
