Warning ! You are entering a zone Infested with True Blue Yamaha RX-100 worshipers.
Back in the 80’s there used to be 4 or 5 motorcycles available in India which are of 1940’s or 50’s design (Bullet, Jawa/Yezdi. Rajdoot-175 etc) and the rest are Scooters & Mopeds.
1984 to be precise, a revolution in Indian biking took place when the Ind-Suzuki AX-100 was launched in India. So, one of my friends purchase the bike, had a test ride and it was like riding a Super bike! The smoothness, acceleration & peppiness of the bike left me speech-less. After ripping it for 5 minutes, the Adrenalin rush was soo intense & uncontrollable, I was literally shaking & shivering when I got down from the bike. Although don’t have any personal feelings for the Suzuki, as I am already a great fan of non other than the Great Kenny Roberts who always rode Factory Yamahas far back as I can remember.
Never thought of owning a Suzuki, being a Yamaha Fan-boy, eagerly waiting for a 100 cc Yamaha on cards from Escorts Ltd. So the Yamaha RX-100 was launched in the summer of 1985, Got my RX on the 19th of April 1987 (those days there is a very long waiting period after booking for the bikes to get delivered)Last edited by frankpilli; 10-13-2011, 01:01 PM.Biker of the Year -2013
