My bike is a Flamboyant-Blue (Peacock blue metallic) color, a great fan of BLACK color (with gold decals) but the black wasn’t available then. The first lot of Yamahas IIRC were CKD kits imported from Japan but in 1987 it came with Japanese components inside. Just above the gear shift lever had the words "MADE IN JAPAN" embossed on it. Attention to detail, build quality and Paint is top notch then. All the control cables, speedo, bulbs (Stanley) and some electrical components were made in Japan. This bike came with 6 volt electricals.

Can you please post a snap which shows the front no: plate.
Me tried to get the front no plate with exact looks for '86 Model Rx100, But I could't find any in shops.
I have given the no: plate which was fitted in my bike to the lathe to make a new one with similar looks. But I'm not sure whether it is the same one fitted in 80's.
It will be a great help for me if you could post a snap of it.Last edited by sanjithjoseph; 10-14-2011, 11:17 PM.YAMAHA RX100 - 1986

Superb thread. Subscribing to it. Nice to see all the 2 strokers bumping in. Its really great to see all those preserved documents. You haven't showed me any of these pics when we met at your home ?
I have few experiences with two stroke bikes. I learned riding a bike on my brother's Suzuki Samurai. And I have a few riding experiences on my brother's RX100.

amazing thread frank.glued to it. now dont keep us waiting bring it on.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson

EXCELLENT!!! That bike was a mini rocket. I had so memorable moments with her... it was a pocket rocket. It was surely one of the best bikes from Yamaha in India. Man!! Had so many exciting events. Unfortunately, due to my limited knowledge & unavailability of good mechanics, coupled with parts scarcity, had to part away with her. It was my uncle's bike.
