These kind of write-ups make the site special. Great work Frank Sir.

        ......

Even before i could get into the biking scene my dad was already a fan of bikes. Our family boasts of lambrettas to yezdis to first ax 100 or Ind Suzuki that time and of course the legendary Rd and Rx100.

Back then i was given a choice in 1999 to own a bike gifted from my dad. Silly me was so much reading stuff about the CBZ and 4 strokes that i didnt choose the Rx (as one was already running in the house for 10 yrs and i wanted a new bike). The choice i made was the YBX, which i didnt regret as it was a good bike too. The bike was sold after 2 yrs as i got my 1989 bullet inherited and loved that bike untill 2011 when i sold it.

But always and always i had this soft corner for a Rx, which has led me to madnesss levels of confusion of 100 vs 135 vs 5 spd vs rxz (arunbhai amolbhai, niteshbhai, pradeep .. i have eaten a lot of their brains and these gem of guys have patiently helped me a lot). Hence my focus remains on 2 strokes now.

Reading stuff like this thread makes me really glued to my focus now to the legendary Rx which in near future is attaining "Rd status".

Great thread - 5 stars - subscription done. Cheers.

You need English lessons my simpleton friend, I just asked you why are you raging over? Where the hell does the "differentiation and discernment" come in? And RX trashed all TVS motorcycle's back in the days everywhere thats the only reason why they started working on shogun.

The RX be it the 100 or 135 still thrashes the Shoguns & the Shaolins in all national events, that too by privateers!!!! Looks like TVS are not doing much of a development in 2Ts anymore (for racing that is).

No offence to anyone here, but i am talking hard facts here. Google around for some race results & you will know.

@ Frank Sir, sorry for hijacking your thread. Please continue your good work. Am waiting for more updates from you.

@ Rosh & dafc, as an old timer, back in the day, if i remember correctly, the factory team of Escorts-Yamaha, took part in 50 % of the events (Track & Motocross) and the rest are privateers participating with their own money and a little sponsorship from small companies /individuals. but the Ind/TVS Suzuki's always took part not only at Sholavaram but any other race/motocross/National event through the Factory teams only. imagine a Factory backed team biting dust behind RX-100's in the hands of Privateers

Here i should mention about the twin brothers, the Legends, Rajkumar & Rajendra who used to Rip the RX & RD's both backed by Team TanTex on the Sholavaram track for over 5 years, we are very fortunate to have non other than the legendary Rajkumar here in Xbhp, both the brothers are 2T tuners & racers as well. i had the privilege of racing with them on the same track same year -1989 ( not in Group-B, but i'm racing in the Group-D novice class) on the same day, same track.

This is the link for one of his posts in Feb 2009 and a testimony about how the RX & RD used to perform in their hands.

                                http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/thumpers...tml#post165893
Thanks for giving this insight. Rajkumar sir is a legend & my tuner knows him pretty well.

Ah, how i wish i could have been born say 10yrs prior to my birth year. That indeed was the golden era for 2-strokes. Only a handful of tuners are left today who actually know what needs to be done & what not!!!!!!

Surprising fact is go to any road side mechanic & he will port the cylinders for you, with a file or what not!!!!!!!

Hats off to real genius like Rajkumar sir.
