No, me & the bike didn't go under the truck, after the impact i lay some 3 or 4 feet from the truck's rear, he came back to check it out, seen me, and wanted to run away from the spot with his truck, because he thought i'm already dead. but his truck needs to be push-started ! this accident happen on the NH-5, then the road used to be very deserted, very less traffic, and the time is 11 PM, so he was looking for a couple of men to get it push-started i guess. then the police arrived.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostThat means you and the bike had gone under the truck
Or the trucker didn't bother walking down to the rear end of the truck to check out whats happening? Weird! How can a person not notice somebody lying in a pool of blood!Biker of the Year -2013

But tell me something, back in '88 was it possible that Yamaha dealers were low on spares?????? Seems incredible!True blue smoke makes the devil's blood run cold

Back in '88 there are very less two-wheelers (except in Metros) plying on the roads, so the dealers used to stock only the basic spares with them. i think in my town there used to be 10 or 15 RX-100's.Originally posted by Bluesmoke View PostFrank, all I can say is the Gods of speed were looking out for you. I changed the full assembly because the internal mechanism has been crushed, but the dial & needle are intact.Originally posted by vijaymeyou View PostOh .

I heard like it was too hard to get these bikes on those days especially during the launch time of RX100. Actually, what was the reason?...too many people booked the bike or less no of bikes in production
And, people used to sell the bike on the same day of delivery by quoting an amount which is more than the real price by Yamaha..some 1000 to 3000 Rs extra..YAMAHA RX100 - 1986

Yes, every motor vehicle has to be booked then. there is no fixed time that u'll get your vehicle. it depends on the mercy of the Manufacturer/Dealer. its not because too many people are booking them. actually there are not much buyers in those days. there are no Finance schemes to buy bikes/cars in those days. you have to pay the full amount in cash when the vehicle arrives at the dealer. some people use to book the vehicles (3 or 4) depending on the demand,, and sell them for some premium for prospective buyers, the middleman/agent was non other than the DealerOriginally posted by sanjithjoseph View PostI heard like it was too hard to get these bikes on those days especially during the launch time of RX100. Yes we should wait for a Chetak for 6 to 7 years! yeah its true. but there used to be an option. Delhi registered Chetaks were readily available (not at the dealers) with some privateers for some Rs. 3000 to 4000 extra. later we used to change the Delhi registration to our state registration.Biker of the Year -2013
