Yes Bro, Not only Passionate I am very sentimental about my RX. And this thread will sure satisfy your salivation. The first hand information of a 24 year old very special RX-100. feel free to ask me anything.
Request: can some one please send me a Watermark software exe file? (send it through my email)
Mine is a 1986 turquoise blue metallic Rx100. Back in those days the colour was referred to as peacock green-blue.
My dad has owned it and run it since to date.
Now its under restoration. So great to see another original CKD Rx100 here. I'll be subscribing to this thread.
Btw I saw the license plate of your bike. Is it from Andhra Pradesh coz mine I also from here. In fact mine is AHY registration.
Lovely thread, waiting for more. Cheers

Re: My RX-100 Story, Ultimate Nostalgia!
no balgi,it is recently restored and some cosmetic works done for the re registration.the bike is 1998 dec model, originally black in colour.it was used by my dad.he works at the cochin port trust, since the bike was exposed to saline costal climate for almost 15 years, some spots of rust appeared at the chasis.so some portions need welding..Originally posted by Balgi View Post@aarex 1 3 5 bro. More pics welcome. Also did you restore the bike or is it still maintained as is? If its the latter then kudos to you and your dad.
an old pic
actually this was the condition before restoration

Re: My RX-100 Story, Ultimate Nostalgia!
Frank,
I Read the whole writeup and saw the scanned documents which you are keeping till now. Hats off to you bro.
My Dad is also a hardcore 2 stroke lover and the same blood is going through mine too. He had a 70's Lambretta. Later his heath condition was not good to drive 2 wheeler and no one was there to maintain it because of lack of spares, it was sold to junk. But I still regret it even after having an RX100 & an RX135 4 speed. Now also He likes to be my pillion on my RX's rather than on my bro in laws Yamaha Ray or my uncles New 4 stroke bikes.
RX rocks till now because of hardcore lovers like you and may be in future down the line me too
. Proud to be having 2 RX's with me. Planning to have an RXZ and an RD which is my dream bike once I am back in India to complete RX series.
Happy & Safe Riding to All

Re: My RX-100 Story, Ultimate Nostalgia!
Yes RX definitely rocks till now and in the future, this bike is ahead of its time when it hit the dealers in India in 1986. No other bikes even higher capacity ones dare to compete with RX. This is the proof of how the RX ruled the Sholavaram Races during the 1980’s. Out of 26 entries for Group-D Race in February 1989, 24 were RX-100, one Kawasaki and one Suzuki.Originally posted by vimalnair4u View PostFrank,

Bikers like you should carry on the legacy of the RX to the future RX lovers.

IIRC the rx bikes' engines were opened and checked to confirm that they were below 100 cc.sigpic

Sir, i have recently picked up a 88 RX100 and making it fully authentic as a weekend project. Here are some pics. Please comment.
The bike looks clean and original. Restoration can be a lot easier for this bike. I can give you inputs/reference pictures for making it fully authentic.Biker of the Year -2013

frankpilli .. that is what I meant. The competition was no competition and hence the competition let their tongues loose. Even recently I had to argue ( almost verbal fight) in a group when someone opined that the early rx100s were actually 125cc and he found a few supporters. [emoji12] [emoji3]sigpic

Yes. Even I did read the same somewhere and it was kind of a joke. I felt like breaking my head on a wall....Originally posted by acs1207 View Post@frankpilli .. that is what I meant.
