champion makes cool plugs,way above mico.if possible get a new oil pump as it's very imp.also mix some oil in tank as a backup.

Hi Rajnish ,
I got the crank of an old 91 RD HT and got it redone with new bearings conrod and all that to service manual specs from Govind .
It was done by the joga guys . i think they charged me 3000 rupees for this work since my old crank broke into two pieces .
The piston and the barells and the piston rings cost me somewhere around 5,500 rs.
About the pump , govind had checked it and said that it works very well, i will think bout changing it in the near future though as i know it is very important for the autolube to work or else SEIZURE at140 KM/hr.
I will meet govind tommorow and let you know bout the service.

Hey guys, I am back.
I was so moved by my first ride on an HT that I had posted it here.
Either the RD's seat is too slippery or the bike pulls too quick for you to keep up with it! Either way, I got addicted and sold off my P180 in 12 days after my first RD ride. After 22 more days, I bought an 84 LT of my own. So much for addictions! - MAX.Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do, what they need is one reason why they can.

I thought my bike wasn't making enough power or going fast enough (125 on the meter!). So I dismantled it. Completely! Its lying in pieces right now inside the house. Waiting for some cash to restore it from ground up. Don't want to keep the engine stock. Want to take it somewhere (
) and make it a bomb! You know what I mean...

I doubt if the now avilable in market conrods as good MT ones and if there was any HT selling in india in 91? unless its a police aution stock of much older lot, UP and delhi police drove some new HTs till as late as 89, thats all. I wont think of pushing them Link brand con rods till 140 for too long unless am ready for another cam work sooner.

there are a lot of exp i had with the rd.. heres a few..
well the first time i really opened up an RD, it was mine.. i was able to ride a friends RD once or twice earlier but he wouldnt let me open her up. So when i got mine i made sure i built it up so good as to scare the living daylights out of the rider
the first time i rode it after the tuneup and chamfering-was with a friend who was pillion and i opened her up in 2nd or 3rd gear and the bikes front just lifted up like crazy..welcome to the world of power wheelie
the pillion was shouting at me and i managed to get the front end down and again zoomed up.. and once i was coming from the international airport in bby with my gfriend as pillion(shes my wife now).. we all friends used to hang out at airport in the night.. excellent and traffic less roads to open up the bikes.. so anyways i was coming back and there was this guy on a Merc(proabably a driver) who started to overtake me from left with his foot full on the gas.. i downshifted a gear and opened the bike up and left the guy far behind by the time i was in 4th gear.. he would have gone ahead if it was a longer stretch but it wasnt and i managed to show him the finger by the time roundabout came
another time this stupid chap on a P150 tried to race me.. did not notice him but he was kind of smirking.. so beat his ass 3-4 times and at the red light he said... man what a bike!! says i know i cant beat a RD but still wanted to see how fast it was
well boy you were just shown the power of the twin 2 stroker. well these are just a few incidents i could remember as of now.. more when i get back to india with these boysen reeds

Hi all !!
I smoked around 35 bikes , all kinds , on the DND yesterday night .
It was fat .. specially when an RXG tried to go past me and he did , till i twisted the rev up after 4.5 k and then he was gone forever ......HE HE HE EHE EHE EHEHEHEEHEHEHH..

The best thing about riding a RD is that most guys think that it is a modified RX100 with one extra silencer.I once had this experience on Airport flyover , where a guy overtook me on his shogun.Untill then i did not try to smoke any guy cos petrol was low . He kinda irritated me by looking back at me , i thought this guy need to be taught a lesson
about how not to be too smart in front of a King!!! I went near him and when i went past him the roar of the silencers was so loud that he proabably kept looking at me and i slowed again for him to come near again, then i again smoked with a roar . That was one experince that i cannot forget.
the complette ride was not so good cos i bumped onto a couple of autos .LIVE LIFE KING SIZE!!

My experience of this little beast was in 1989. The bikes were owned by our tenants who were students from oman. I had an rx 1987 (japan) bike which is a real scorcher. Well to their bikes, they were lying in the backyard of our house for maybe a week and i actually decided to take the bike out rather than just start the bikes stationary once a week so that battery do not die out. So i took this blacky bike owned by (Yousuf) called FURY by him as it looked better than the blue bike owned by (Ali).
Cranked the bike and let it heat up for 2 mins this is what i do always any bike. Engaged the first and apna RX style twisted the right grip and ssssssccccccccccccccccccccrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr wwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooommmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmm mud being tossed behind like a nissan patrol tossing sand and then on to the tarmac luckily just was holding on to the handle and somehow my arse was still on the seat with my legs dangling off the footpegs i somehow managed to stop the bike with the front brakes. I said to myself what the **** was that!!!!!!!
I looked in the rearview mirror and found my face with fear but at the same time the excitement to have fun with this new beast.
Luckily there were no kids playing around and the first 80 meters before the only right turn was without anyone coming.
I was trembling with my feet on the footpegs. This 80mtrs done on the RX was usually 1st 2nd and occassionally a 3rd, but now 80meters in first well this is what i wanted and dreamt for.
Went to the first open stretch of road i could find and then looked to see if any ****ers are crossing or any dogs around, engaged first blast 2nd 3rd 4th 5th bike was doing 140+ on a maybe under 500 meter stretch of road could not slam 6th and then time to slam brakes and what the **** the ****ing rear brakes are non existant. Went straight through the cross road with a narrow escape of hitting a truck in the rear. Used the fronts again and stopped the beast. On checking found the brake lever was hitting the exhaust pipe on operating the lever. Got the thing sorted and then filled up gas 1 ltr and went for two three high speeds runs of maybe 10 to 12 kms and **** the bike is in reserve again. Went back home and parked the beast and only wished if it gave an average of atleast 25. But i swear this is a real real bike and later my rx felt real **** for me for sometime.

I got real lucky. Rode a nicely setup RD. Street / reliability tune + chambers. Belongs to Leppard. Talk about rushes. I never saw the speedometer or the tacho.
First gear, flat on the tank, i gas her hard and she takes off. Then there is an awesome jump. I think "Great! Time to shift gears." Then the actual powerband hits. For the first time in my life, I slid away on the seat, even though i am holding on real tight. Front wheel comes up nice and easy. Second gear and this time i didnt drop out of the power band, so the bike is still trying to uproot my arms. Pulls like this all the way till top gear. What can i say? 6 gears of almighty fun. Too bad I didnt wait for one and jumped at the RX.
When i got back and stopped the bike, my hands were shaking uncontrollably. Max was there and saw it. So he can tell you what I looked like. I barely remember anything that happened in the next few minutes. Was prolly walking around with an idiotic grin on my face for all i know.
Just to put this in perspective, this is a bike built for street use. Further, the powerband has been tamed a little by sprocketing up on the front. Thats like putting a bigger diameter tyre on the bike. So you have some idea of what that little 350 cc engine is capable of. After all this I find out that the bike is still not healthy and is making poor compression. Can't wait to see what would happen once he works up the dough to fix that.

The guy's having fever for the past couple of days and he jumps onto a screamer like that and he comes back with this expression on his face, hands trembling and all! Enjoyed it to the max!!! who much is difference in lt /ht till when was ht made. i hunted for ht but every one suggested me to go for lt . i have seen ht people swicth to lt barrels. is their a big difference ihave till date driven 20 or so rd i didint see any difference. all rd try to throw you. whow to see ht or lt
