• Re: Project catastros (rx rebuild)

Its happening a lot these days. A guy who cleans drains in my city has a busted seized rx100. A mech asked him how much he wanted for it. He said 10k. When asked why he wanted so much, he said rx is in demand... Take it or leave it...

Shogun is still a distant dream.... Rx test drive is today hopefully. Due to workload and soaring temprature i am unable to take the test drive.

But..... here is an update.

When the block is freshly bored, its common practice to keep the bike on raised idle for some hours, giving the piston time to adjust. After that load of running should be given. A table fan should be infront of the engine to cool it down.

I dunno... It came pre-bored.

I apologise for being away from the thread for so long. I was not well and some other commitments crept up. I happy to report that catastros is up and running. Sharing a teaser pic. Full pictorial coming soon.

Is that RVM from old KB? or RXZ?
Any specific reason the brake hose is not clamped?

The rvms are from kb & are just just for the sake of looks. No place to put a clamp for the hose. Have to drill a hole in the mudguard for that and i was in a hurry to finish the build so left it as is for now.

Sorry satish. Have been a bit short on time. Lot of things. My mum is also not well. Hectic work schedule. On top of it, a recent spat with some local junior xbhpian has left me in a state of dilema whether I shd continue with xbhp or not. But just for the sake of this thread, I will post some nice snaps of the bike once the rain god shows some mercy.

Stock vm24 has 20 pj and 140mj. Needle is thinner than vm22. Upjetting caused a lot of bogging at high rpms so stuck to the stock jets for now. Needle clip is at the richest position.

Bibhu, life will be at its best when you acknowledge others compliments about you and not the stinky talks they talk behind you.
just ignore that matter which you mentioned and shift the gear to overdrive and continue to enjoy the ride :-) I am sure the rides going to be interesting.

Best regards

Nice to come back to xbhp after so many harrowing months with lots of personal misfortunes and to top it all nice to see that you have returned back to xbhp inspite of the mudslinging by the ignorant junior guy. Hope to see more updates about ur yamdoot 350 and the super rx and be in sync with xbhp bro

A real beauty has finally metamorphosed considering how badly it was chopped up by the previous mechanic. While most of us would have thought of junking it and going after another bike your perseverance finally paid up. So now how about some smoke belching on some hapless 4 joker's face :thumbup:
