      Fork top is intentionally left without caps?
      Had worst experience during monsoon without the caps (old tubes got rusted due to water accumulation)

        No satish. Will put the caps after the work is done. Currently wiring is going on. Thanks to some shoddy stuff by a local vendor, a lot of electrical components like holders and tail lamp have to be changed. Once the wiring is done, i will change the muffler to a rx100 one and check the sound. Then its go time.

        Anyone in need of rx100 old type (holed one) muffler pls let me know.

            Old type muffler has holes through and through on the inner partitions. Like polo. Rx135 mufflers dont. Old types give a bassier sound. Lemme install one and check. I will make sound recordings if there is a noticable change.

              Bibhu, blame me for missing this thread. Nice to see your next project RX135! Well, all oldies in 2 strokes, let the show begin.

              So the muffler (Jaali/Baansuri/Core etc....) what you have is from RX100? Why you want to give it off?

              List out parts that you might require for this restoration, I got some used parts like fork assembly, brake plate, etc.

                The muffler. Also called a flute. At the end of the exhaust. Removed by opening a screw.

                Thanks for the offer sri. Restoration is already done. Only a few wiring problems remain which will be taken care of in the next few days. Although i might need a new 135 clutch bell. Pls let me know if one is available.

                Regarding the 100 muffler: My new exhaust has a rxg type muffler. I got hold of a few 100 mufflers. The ones with holes in the partitions. So if you or anyone else needs em, let me know.

                In my silencer i have put a rd muffler n i am very happy with the sound.

                    Have u seen bodyguards ....with light machine guns ....Their muzzle shape is same as the rx100 muffler

                      Enlightening on the difference between Muffler and Silencer terminologies

                      Silencer is commonly referenced to exhaust chrome pipe and is widely popular.
                      Many call the insert tube as Muffler and regionally acclaimed many titles and references.

                      In reality or in Yamaha Motor World, the Chrome pipe is called the Muffler Assembly and the tube comes in the rear end is called Silencer Exhaust. I know many might get confused after reading this post, that's ok, even I went through. But that's how the reality is. We interchangeably use the term to our convenience, however, the above reference is just to let you know that practically knowingly we are using incorrect terms.

                          Whew, what a couple of days has it been. First the clutch malfunctioned. Turns out it was bent steel plates. Changed the steels to makino ones and the clutch turned out fine. Then the gear shifter got stuck in 3rd gear... Brain fu@#ed....

                          Cldnt sleep all night. With the first light of dawn, opened the clutch side again... The shift arm was stuck in the shift drum pin holder plate. Straigthened the plate.. Engine is butter smooth now...
