I am yet to see any "experts" you speak of, in this and other great technical 2-stroke forums, coming out and actively helping poor enducated clueless people like me. So lets not go there. You want to impart knowledge, thats fine by me. By all means, please make thread on compression calculations, I will be the first one to subscribe to it.
the question here is have you asked for help and if you have asked have you asked the right person for the help ,from the limited time i have been able to spend here i have seen my share of people asking for help and
help being given to the deserving heck i myself have been a rather generous receiver of help psr sir and yamdoot will attest to that ,
I am not trying to impart any new knowledge to anybody i had seen an error being made and all i have done is try and correct it
    ,

But the way you do it is rather offensive. Making sarcastic remarks on someone's education and inteligence is not an "enlightened" thing to do. Just saying "no offence" does not justify offending someone in the first place. Your argument may be technically sound, but moraly wrong and out of place.
Can you please clarify how and where in my posts i have made sarcastic comments on your education and intelligence . because i would very much like to know how i did that , whether it is "you do no need to be an engineer to do the math" or " there is no law against it" or is it " all you need is the intelligence of a 12 year old and a calculator" . ever since I had joined this forum i have had my share of arguments here but this is the first time some one has accused me of making personal attacks, Also i would like to know why its morally wrong, , the explanation i gave was because Yamdoot specifically asked me for one and so i dont see it as out of place. i will delete every offensive post that i have made in this thread if you can give me a convincing clarification regarding your accusation but not until then. As for sarcasm well all i can say is sarcasm attracts sarcasm

Yes, I am aware that people are following this thread. I do not wish to lead anyone down a wrong path, anyone who has approched me for help in this forum, I have helped them to the best of my abilities without any personal gain. So I dont need to be reminded of the fact that people are watching
I am not doubting your mentality to help
    and keep this in mind

All I wanted to convey was I installed a high compression head and it works. I did not set out show my technical superiority or show off any "fancy stuff" I have. Infact unlike most rx builds I dont even use all oe parts because I am on a budget. So this discussion ends here. I will get back to documenting my build.
and all i wanted was to try and correct a n error , and if you had gone through my previous posts i never doubted the efficiency of your head all i asked with respect to it was that to check the compression after running in and see the increase in compression, i have in no way said that you are showing off your technical superiority or your fancy stuff or questioned the quality of your build

Again, I thank you for enlightning me.

Thank you for the kind words. Fiber reeds are lighter and more flexible than metal reeds, they give better throttle response. The downside is they dont last as long as metal reeds.

I am using a ravi nagesh rxg 90/100 kit which includes a lighter magnet, 90/100 coil plate, rectifier and a replacement cdi. The kit is out of production now. By full dc set up do you mean dc lighting? You can do that by rewinding the charging coil and installing a bigger battery, and may be a better rr unit. Then you can run the lights directly on the battery. However I do not know the specifics of the conversion.

For 12v conversion, get a 12v rx100 coil plate, rectifier, cdi and harness. Swap everything and you wld have a reliable 12v system. Change other electrical components accordingly.

        Re: Project catastros (rx rebuild)

just change the rr,flasher, bulbs and battery to 12v specifications, can i use rx-135 coil plate(i don't know whether this part is available or not i have to search for this part)will there be any adverse effect on the bike piston or crank by uprating the electricals.
If the coil re-winding is done properly, then you don't need to change anything apart from the one highlighted in bold. This how the conversion was done on my RX100 ~7-8 years back and it is running trouble free so far by Gods grace. If it helps, coil re-winding was done at Ruby Electricals, Bangalore.

Also, if you are planning to replace the plate, then you need to replace the magnet also as the old 6V magnets and the 135 coil plates aren't compatible. Been there, tried that

Coil plate used to be ~1300 and Magnet ~2200 and it was available in MSP Autoworld here in Bangalore about two years back.

Why dont you try sourcing oe rx100 12v coils? That would be best. I personally have horrible experience with coil rewinding. To the point that suddenly my light went off one night and I crashed in to a cycle. So, either get it done in a reputed place or get oe 12v coils.

            Re: Project catastros (rx rebuild)

You can contact them directly and ask them if they can oblige. I don't remember how much I paid but it was not much. I don't know if coil & magnet are available now.

RX100 OE coils was impossible to find 2-3 years back itself. But maybe, you can try to source one from junkyard.

I am happy to report that the bike was started yesterday night. Still some timing issues due to high compression. The kick lever got bent and the magnet side oil seal got busted due to increased compression. Currently working on fixing both.

You guessed correct. I put in too much oil while storing the assembled gb. This combined with the increased compression did the oilseal in. The kick, i have no idea how it got bent.

Its a uni filter. The best air filters on earth(their tag line). Goes well with other mods. The gators are a classic part of the vintage design. So i have kept them. Since I am using classic pulsar forks, the gators are a straight fit. Magnet oil seal can be installed from the outside without any issues.

Compression still holding at 150 psi. Will check it after a few 100 kms.

The main reason of using pulsar forks is the easy access to parts. As with any other free flow filter upjetting is required with uni. I am using a upjetted bigger carb. I got the filter from Dr. Patidar.

Dr. Patidar's xbhp id is yamdoot. A very dear friend and my mentor.

Personally I am not a big fan of the rx100. However, I love the rx135. On the most basic level I love any 2-stroke. Be it the puny tvs 35 or the mighty rd500. They have a special place in my life. But not everyone these days is too passionate about 2-strokes and specially the rx series bikes. Most people I come across these days believe that the era of 2-strokes is over and 2-strokes are only good for peaky power. What they do not understand is, a 4-stroke bike, no matter how powerful or big, always lacks the "never say die" attitude of a 2-stroke motor. It may be oily, it may smoke but it wld always remain close to your heart like no 4-stroke can.

Technically i love the 2-stroke motor because of the sheer simplicity of its design. This simplicity adds to the longivity of the motor. A 4-stroke motor feels over-engineered after working on a 2-stroke. I wont go as far as calling them 4-jokes but the fact remains, 2-strokes would always remain infinitely more involving and fun than a 4-stroke bike can ever hope to be. As the doc always says; "no cams, no valves, no worries".

We are the unluckiest people in the world as far as 2-strokes are concerned. Our most advanced 2-stroke was made in the 70s. When 2-strokes were in production, no one wanted better tech 2ts. Now, people gloat about their "modern" and "powerful" 4t bikes. Even a moderate tech 2t would put those "powerful" 4ts to shame. But...... That ship had sailed.. So now we have to make the best of what we got.

Finally started and running well. Intially there were some timing issues. But now its all sorted out. Timed and primed. Road test in a few days once all wirings are sorted out.
