Pic of my Y-350 from the rear ... the bike is in a bad state, but in stock form ... even has the 200 mm rear drum, which is extremely rare ... check the silencers from the rear. They match the Deluxe

Hi Sixspeedtwin,
I have attached a pic of Yezdi 350. The silencers are more rounded towards the end. As you explained that RD itself came with different type of silencers for its HT & LT models, this may be the case with Yezdi 350 as well. You are very senior to me and I respect you for that.
Cheers!

The RD-350 itself came with 3 types of silencers. The first lot ('83-'84 High-End-Torque) came with flat or chopped ends, the second and third types were seen on Low-End-Torque models with proper taper like RX100 and midway taper (between RX and RD HeT types) respectively.Originally posted by Jay2723 View Post
@Sixspeedtwin,
I believe the yezdi 350 silencers looks somewhat similar to a RD-350 silencer, having a more round shape at the end.
As for Yezdi 350, having owned 2 bikes I can vouch for the fact that the Y-350 and the Deluxe model silencers are the same.

Actually we cannot predict a year with a model. Roadkings used to come from 79 till 96. Lots of changes, improvements, trials. I had seen an Roadking with a clock, where the Key was there, and the key was shifted betweeen both the cups.
That man has a few more pipes of this kind. Anyone interested let me know.

Nice set of pipes srini. Very fortunate buy that.Originally posted by srinikasyap View PostHello Ray: I have a Deluxe, and it did not come with the Round silencers. It came with the usual Roadking Silencers.
But i managed to get a pair of those round silencers here in chennai for Rs 1800 a pair. New ones, not used and stored, small small scratches, but definately worth if you like the beat of the round silencers.
But i doubt if these had come in the 350's! they had a diff silencers. Maybe due to lack of knowledge ppl just put these as they were available in plenty when compared to the 350 silencers.
Correct me if i am wrong.
I do think you're wrong about the Deluxe because there is more than one that I've come across where the cut off pipes were factory fitted. Thing is however that on several counts, the Yezdi history seems a bit hazy with no clearcut correlation between year of manufacture and exact parts sported. I've come across single-owner Jawas (owned by friends' parents and suchlike) which actually came from the factory with the Yezdi Type B fittings (square footpegs, square tail light, etc.) and other weird anomalies. I think there were possibly years or periods when the deluxe did come with the cut off silencers and others where perhaps it didn't. Personally I have never come across a Deluxe with the regular Yezdi/RK silencers but its certainly possible.
As for whether its the same as the 350 or not, I have no opinion on it since I haven't owned a 350 and really haven't spent much time with the bike.
Speaking of which, is that now the only one missing from your collection Srini?
That and a '61 tank switch Jawa eh?
Cheers
Rahul

As do the Yezdi Deluxe and the 250D ClassicOriginally posted by Jay2723 View Post@Sixspeedtwin,

At least in some years. On a side note, to my mind the only difference in the two bikes is the rear decal. I've seen some with a 250D Classic on it and others with 250 Deluxe written on it. Anything else different anyone's noticed?
The other day I was peering at a single owner '89 D250 Classic with the cut off pipes. This is one of the less common ones I've come across though. Most of the Deluxes all had the cut-off pipes. I personally haven't compared it in detail to the 350 so I wouldn't know but I'm quite happy to take sixspeedtwin's word for it considering his collection
Take a look though

And believe you me, the sheer volumes that are traded in the Gujli everyday are amazing. You have truckloads (literally) of frames and parts being shipped from the Bangalore Gujli everyday to other parts of India - Kolkata, Hyderabad, Rajasthan. Its crazy. Apparently, in the north, the Yezdi frame is in great demand for guys to use as rigs for transporting stuff since the metallurgy is good and strong.
But yes, this has been my experience and unless you have the time and patience and general willingness to roam around the back alleys, you won't find the deals I'm referring to.

How much time you are around the block in Blore doesn't count for much if you can get me a good deal Ray - I would gladly go for it - admittedly I have not got any contacts in Shivajinagar - I have never been to Addu and only recently met Moosa.... when you sniff a good deal ping me mate
Either a RK or a CL2

@ Sandeep - I agree with you that this is going to be a loss making deal...but am lazy to go around and find stuff....also just posted both these bikes for sale online and have been getting offer for around 12 k max for YBX and one guy called up for 18k for my CL2, if this deal is closed then I would look at getting that at 27 by cash instead of exchange...
@Ray - I agree if we really go out and search out we will be able to get some good deals...am little lazy at it

I would disagree on the "perfect" condition bit. Unless you have some "super" contact, and they are not in the idea of making some money off the bike, you will most definitely not get a bike in "perfect" condition for 27K in Bangalore.
From my experience, I have found bikes in that price range to be cosmetically "near perfect" but mechanically speaking, they would be far from being in "Great condition". Bikes in 25K and 30K bracket rarely come with a sound engine/tranny/rest of the mechanicals in tip top shape.
But yes, this has been my experience and unless you have the time and patience and general willingness to roam around the back alleys, you won't find the deals I'm referring to.
