OMG! 3rd RX at home - 1998 Yamaha RX135 4S
Someone said '2' is not a lucky number, so got home my 3rd Yamaha RX
Came back with another RX this time, after a couple of RX restorations
I never wanted any more bikes, but a friend of mine had this RX135 lying at his garage unused for almost 1.5 years for 2 reasons.
- Documents got expired in early 2013
- Another bike & car are already a part of his garage
When he decided to sell this machine, fortunately I'm the 1st person came in his mind.
I hope everyone could imagine what should have happened next.
Details:
- 1998 Yamaha RX135 4s
- Black Color
- 2nd owner
- 78k+ on odo (should be genuine)
Bike Condition
- Not sure about the current piston size.
- Engine is running fine with a mild noise
- Clutch lost it's life
- All electricals working fine except brake light
- Battery dead
- Front Tire (MRF Zapper 80/100 18) left with more than 70% life
- Rear Tire needs immediate attention
- Frame : rusted here and there
Now the query session.
What should I do with this bike?
I know I will be fired on asking this question. Please pardon me. I got this bike without any plan.
What ever may be the plan, I don't have time to start immediately. Restoration / modification will be done during the Christmas holiday this year.
Things running in my mind.
Get the FC done and make the documents live. After that,
1) Long term wish of having an RX100 is still a wish - What if I convert this bike to RX100?
- I can transfer the RX100 tank + shields from my RXG and change the RXG's theme
- My mechanic has RX100 bore in decent condition (0.25 OS) which he is ready to offer me
- So I should source a head, Piston, Connecting rod, Crank, Carburetor (anything missed?)
2) Make a cosmetic upgrade, use it till I find time / need / Vitamin-N for performance upgrade
3) Convert my RXG to RX135 with parts from this bike (I started facing jerks from RXG)
Friends and seniors please suggest me with a better option.
