        That's a 4s with 5s theme.

          Hi Boss,

When I replaced the bushes in clutch bell, the sound and play was reduced initially. After 1 month the sound was more in compare to the prerepair days.
Please let us know your experience. One more thing, the koyo engine bearing installation required to heat up the engine case .did you follow this method.

          Thanks
          Sri

I faced the same situation in one of my RX. Redone the clutch bell with different brand rubber kit (couldn't recall the brand though) and the noise vanished. It's going strong for over 5k km / 1.5 years

Irrespective of the brand we follow this procedure. Had a bad experience in past with Hit and insert method.

Though I'm not sure if it is genuine spare, there are brand new cylinder kits available in FB RX fan page (4s, 5s and 100 kits)

Nice Restoration. Good to see another RX in stock look.

Plan to convert it to a complete 5 speed which will match the stickers....

Looks beautiful buddy! One thing i noticed is that crankcase sticker should have "YEIS" on them for the 135 right?
And also the black ring around YAMAHA is missing

That was the plan behind this sticker theme, I hope to get it done shortly.

                              Quick update:
                              Bike sold!!!

After a lengthy Heart vs Mind debate passed her to another hand, a family friend.

Planned for 5 speed conversion and landed up with 5s sticker theme. Got a used GB and not satisfied with the condition and sold it immediately (after losing few bucks)
Lesson learned: Avoid online shopping (especially for used goods) going by the snaps and verbal promises.

Decided against 5s conversion and ended up having 2 bikes with similar (same) spec and age, only difference being this bike is completely stock and the other is mechanically stock (and better than this bike) with contrast painting. Emotionally more attached with that bike for various reasons and decided to sell this bike with only 1 condition, buyer should be from known circle or an enthusiast who could maintain her with passion. A month back one of our family friend said he is looking to buy an RX and wanted me to get him a good one. Called him and the deal was freezed in no time.

5s bug didn't end. Started looking for stock 5s RX and a couple of days back came across a 2000 model RX135 5S in Olx and Facebook. Some Whatsapp chats, few phone calls and last night inspected the bike, fully satisfied, paid token advance, fixed delivery time, and this (early) morning paid the balance and got her home. Yes, 00 RX135 5s replaced this 98 RX135 4s

More details and snaps to follow in a new thread, shortly

Letting a bike built with some much love finally go is not an easy decision. What you said is absolutely true about online purchases, people have simply become greedy and no one actually cares to post a feedback once the deal is through. I have had some terrible luck with spare purchases online and its just the convenience that keeps me going for more.

Now, Hearty congrats on the 5 speed, I know the feeling of getting what dreams are made up of. It was a great decision not to convert and go for an all original bike. Good that you heard to the head and not to the heart. Mine is in the final stages of the restoration and I am hoping to complete it by end of next month(I know I am lazy, but I am in no hurry especially when I take into account the fuel which gets evaporated due to non usage of all the bikes.

Looking forward to see another detailed thread on your next restoration

                                Regards,

                                Pramod
