Thanks for the kind words Krishna.
To be frank inspiration is from no where else, credit goes to this forum when it comes to (RX) restoration.

          Re: OMG! 3rd RX at home - 1998 Yamaha RX135 4S

After a lot of debate and confusion, finally decided something.

          This time a Cafe Racer

Yes, a cafe racer this time. Since I already have a couple of RX for daily use (apart from Car which I take to office atleast a couple of days in a week and some weekend trips and long drives) I don't need a commuter bike again. Drag spec is something I'm not very fond of (I'm a sedate driver) and also a strict no-no from Home minister for such a machine.

Finally I wanted something different to experience, ended up with the idea of Cafe racer.

This segment is something very new to me, not even driven once. Expecting suggestions from fellow members here.

PS: Project will be executed during Christmas holidays as I'm bundled with lot of commitments till then, so I'm left with significant time for part collection and more time to think about what to do and understand what not to do

            Cafe Racer

Have a look at this bike sir. Not entirely a cafe' racer though but the design is something different from the usual.

              Thanks for the link Bro.
Could get something different with least possible modification. Will definitely consider this option too

Satish, I don't know how have you planned to start this project, but do look at the Enfield continental. Not a bad idea to keep just heads handle bar and seat bit different and it turns to an ideal one. There's a Teambhp member did a cafe racer years back if I recall, might be of help.

I couldn't work on this bike for various reasons (couple of restorations for my friends, other commitments, etc)
Now I got another unavoidable request from a friend to restore his RX135.
Fingers crossed till I get sufficient time to resume the job.

Finally I managed to convince my friend that his bike will be restored after completing mine Mean time I gave my RXG for him to use until his bike is back to shape.

Coming back to the subject, still I'm confused on the Cafe Racer concept. This is what I had in mind

But this involves chopping the frame rear end and I'm bit concerned with the same.

Cafe racer is a good choice. But I won't recommend chopping of rear chasis as later if you want to change it back to a stock bike you might have to buy a new chasis. Instead of cutting the chasis why not put a shield over the chasis and fix the seat on that. That might look like the rear side height is increased. Or look for some other good options.

By the way you told that fc is not done. So 1st you have to restore it to stock and do the fc. With the Cafe Racer look you won't get the fc. Then start the Cafe Racer concept.

Looking forward for your updates. And good luck for your build.

I have additional set of almost all cosmetic parts. With them I will get the FC done within couple of weeks and then start the work of modification.

Update after a little long gap.
Dropped the idea of Cafe racer modification.
This bike will be restored to 100% stock spec and look.

Restoration started a couple of weeks back.
                          - Completely dismantled each and every part
                          - Parts painted and plated
                          - Several new parts procured

Hi Boss, you are the BOSS

First let me congratulate for giving a fresh life to the old grandpa. Read as high Botox dose
In the earlier posts, this was mentioned that there is noise in the engine and issues with clutch. Can you brief what all changes were made in the engine section.

                                Thanks
                                Sri
