The front fork looks very similar to Rx forks. So maybe you can check and if so replace oil seals with Rx ones.

Yes I am. It used to be done for big British bikes. Though there were no oil leaks with this method, there was always a stiffness to the shocks and they were more prone to wear out and fail. If you have the old oil seal with you then just go to any big rubber manufacturer and get the same grade rubber and have them cut to spec. I did that for my Pearl Yamaha 1969. Most all rubber parts were missing on it. Do check tvs excel super and hero Honda oil seals (older models) it should be a match. Though I could be wrong.

Re: Restoring a Enfield Explorer.......help required!!!
Oil seals, in my opinion are generic parts like bolts, nuts, etc. They come in sizes, so if you do have the existing ones take them to a industrial equipment shop that deal with water pumps etc. There are chances of you getting them easily by just showing them and asking for them. Other options include shared parts, like Balgi mentioned, of RX. Sometimes the things that are so hard to source maybe lying at a place least expected.Originally posted by eminemjohn View PostHey guys i am struck now i am not able to source the oil seal as of date for my fork now my Mech is suggesting can we do a greased front fork the ones they used to do 15-20 years back guys have any idea what is this and is it ok ??
