Thanks for the info. So now, after 95,000 km, you are now seeing a decline in performance? What about decarbs?

My samurai is a 2000 model the dual meters wala. Changed only the clutch plates twice. Probably i have to change the crank, piston and the cylinder block, will do it after i have enough moolah for both shaolin and samurai.

Samurai is for daily use for work etc..gives me 54 average.

I was using Castrol Jetx before now because of the unavailability am using BP Mak2T and for the engine am using castrol 20w40.

Yes, original 2T pump never ever opened the engine.

    95 k km... cool dude!

Would be very interesting to know if you have changed any engine parts in the interim. Also which lubes (2t and gearbox) are you using? How many times did you have to decarb in that period? And I presume you are on the original oil pump too?

My Samurai has succesfully completed 95000 change KMS without putting the 2T oil in the tank(Fuel tank). 2T oil goes in the oil tank.

I pulled out the 2T tube from the carb to check working of the 2Tpump, i understand how important it is for the piston to be lubricated all the time.

Am an amature mech (you can say) open for learning any time.....hehheheh.

^ The AFR gets screwed big time if you keep the oil nipple open, once the AFR gets screwed chances of running too lean is high, hence it gets seized.

How did you get a seizure if you were on premix?

I wouldn't run the engine without the pipe attached... or at least i'd add some oil in the tank.

I had a seizure on my RX once because the mechanic forgot to put that pipe back on the carb. even though I was on premix Hence that thought is permanently etched in my mind

    +1
you know ure bang on, coz if u dont plug that gap, then the engine starts revving higher although slowly, but the extra air being sucked in from that inlet means a leaner misture runnig in for that amount of time, so plz be careful and as sunny boi says plug that hole before starting

Instead of increasing the throttle, pull the oil cable. On a RX its outside, just hold the cable and yank it up as much as you can. Can see oil flowing faster which means lesser time taken and less revving the engine without oil.

because it says so on the can.

motul 800 is too viscous if not mixed with petrol and can mess up the metering by the oil pump.

Motul 800 would be the best, but is your bike used mainly for offroading? If not, why are you using the one for off road?

Since you are using the above, I assume you are using premix... because Motul 800 is not ment to be used with the pump. If you are using the pump, use Motul 510. It can used both ways. Price is around Rs. 400/litre. If you buy more, you could bargain for a lesser price. PM me if you wanna know where to get it.

    Hi Raccoon

Its good to read this history about oil,and thanks for that knowledge i got from all of your views,I am also from Pune and i have a Rx100,88 model, and i use MOTUL 800 FACTORY LINE OFF ROAD 2T OIL,which costs Rs750 and i buy it from DSG(Dream Sporting Gear) as it is close to my house, till date touch wood i did not have any problems in the running of my engine as it is a single hand use bike.As my personal experience I feel Motul is a well satisfactory 2T oil,All i want to ask is that can u tell me or guide me besides DSG where can i get this Motul 2T oil as i feel these guys must be charging a bit more from customers(not sure). And which oil in Motul is the best (2Toil).
Do you know any shop from where i can get this and also can you guide me (price is not the consern) which is the best of best Gear box and 2T oil.Right now i am using 20w50 for the gera box and the same as above for the side oil.Your help on this would be highly appreciated
