  • Got a RX at last - my teenage dream!

I will be 32 this August. and today I got my most wanted teenage stuff - a RX 100. Actually the want was eclipsed by my Shogun in 1996. But yet I always wanted a RX. On the roads I envied everyone whom I found riding a well maintained RX. Not a 135, not a 135 5s but a classic RX 100. The scope, the situation, a good bike, perfect papers - everytime I tried to get a RX one of these parameters failed, until today!

I came home at 3PM (rain drenched) riding her for 50 kms from the seller's place. Oh well, ~56000 kms on the odo (its working perfect) and running on stock bore, this 1991 RX seriously kicks ass. It's an amazing machine.

Few quick shots of the RX

The Boss (below) perhaps does not like the presence of the The Jack. She refused to start in a single kick this evening. I expect them to be good friends.

    Plans with the RX.
Will restore her to stock condition, cosmetically and internally. For the next few months I intend to collect the spares and once the rainy season is over will start working on her.

Bugger you didn't tell me you got her home congrats.

The bike needs a complete cosmetic make over i see some rust in the pics
seat needs a replacement and for god sake remove that carrier saree guard and the rubber mat.

I need to pay my mobile bill till I am allowed to do an outgoing call. Actually its heavily raining here and I procrastinated paying my mobile bill. Will call you today evening.

Yes complete cosmetic makeover. Yes those 2 junks, they have to be removed ASAP. Btw, no rattling sound inside the bore, and she has a good torque.

Mail me the list if you need anything from bangalore, the first thing you need to change is the handle bar and the bolts they are too rusty as seen in pics change to a shogun one, good to hear that there is no rattling sound, just do a cross check by removing the engine get the OE packing kit and replace all the oil seals in the bike.

Congratulations swingarm I see the rear shocks rusting. Do repalce it. And one humble request, restore it to stock condition ONLY. I feel sad to see some of the 'cool' or 'hot' RXs on the road.

Will talk to you about the spares, let me find out what all I get here in Kol. I would need a stock ART piston for sure. Its not available here.

Thanks Nitin. I will restore her to STOCK only. I am very focused on that. No dirk bike look, no porting, jetting and no chambers.
