By choice. - What happened to you, not taking any calls, not answering to PMs? Are you all right?

Posting the pictures here once again, so you do not have to search for them.

        Excellent work done Basu.
I know how difficult it is to get spare parts. U have to spend a lot of money and time.
One suggestion - if u are not planning to use rear panels then remove the rear grab handle. It looks good without rear handle

Thanks. It is hard to double stand the bike without that rear grab handle.

You are always welcome. I will work on RX once the rainy season gets over.

I did not fit the front plates yet. You source me the rear tail panels OEM in silver. They will come in 3 pieces. I will pay you double for it.

dada, apart from Wellington, have you checked for parts in Anwar shah road??(i guess you must have done that but still asking)....they used to do some jugaad for a friend of mine who had a RX100 and at least get the body panels readily within two-three days...plus there are lots of small garages in Khidderpore where they repair as well as source parts.....i used to see few small shops in the Mominpur area when i used to frequent that area.....

RX parts are available with the solo genuine Yamaha spare parts dealer in Wellington, he said if I have the papers - he can help build a bike - jokes apart, I enquired with him and everything is available, including the Japanese Fibre Clutch Plates. I do go to Anwar Shah Road, the shop you are talking about, the owner himself owns a Shogun. Never been to Khiddepore for spares, too far from my home. I am in extreme south.

Stay away from that shop as much as possible. I have not purchased a single spare for my Shogun from him. Reason is that, I do not trust him. Price apart, he has a bad record of selling counterfeit items for other brands - not TVS. These days Wellington has been the Mecca for me since all the Genuine stockists (Yamaha - TVS - Bajaj - Honda) reside there. Heck last day I picked up a set of RD350 clutch plates (Imported and Original), may be someone would need it. I do not own a RD but I was blown away by the quality of the plates so I just grabbed it.

If you have rearsets in black why don't you paint them in silver

Thats very aptly put! Without the panels it looks like something like a work in progress bike or something!

Swingarm, which headlight assembly are u using? Is it really good? And the shocks?

If you ask me, round headlamps just dont gel with the angular curves of the gun and the shape of the speedo console. The fairing is also indespensible.

Is the tank, side panels etc on your gun all original?

Posting a pic of my gun (taken yesterday). Hate the look of it without the fairing. The side panels and all are almost as good as new as you can see. Only couple of very small scratches on the tank, on the top, which have appeared recently. And also a very tiny dent. The front mud guard could also use some doing. Any suggestions how I might deal with it? Are scratch removers (Formula 1, etc., really helpful?) Would I have to repaint the whole tank & mudguard??

If I polish it with Formula 1 or even use Waxpol's Protectol, the scratches are just barely visible... and the bike looks almost new from a short distance. But when I recently tried Armour All liquid polish, they stand out like hell... even more than without any polish!

I would like to ask you, have you saw a factory rolled out Shaolin? It came with the same body (angle - curves - speedo) as that of the Shogun but with a round Samurai light. The reason being, the round headlight provides better focus and light on the highways. So other than the looks, my concern for a better light was the reason from switching from a rectangle to round one.

Regarding rear panels, I will not put anything other than a set of original ones so unless I get them - it will be without it, and yes all the tanks, panels are new ones - nothing repainted. The shocks are TVS originals for Shogun with the top silver cap ripped off.

I have no idea on scratch removers. I use Meguiars for polishing my bike. But it is just a polish (wax). A scratch remover will always thin your paint so, I like to stay away from them.

I'v seen v few Shaolin's... but cant really recall. Anyway, I guess looks are subjective. I personally feel the rectangular headlamp with the fairing is part of the persona of the gun. Anyway, which headlamp assy. you using??

If you are really interested, I check if the side panels are available anywhere here. I really doubt it though... esp. silver ones.

Its possible to "rip" the chrome top of the shockers? How? That would be great as the chrome tops on one of my shokers is almost totally corroded (plating peeled off). Would it have any adverse effects?

I know that scratch removers will remove some paint, but it might be a good idea to use them once, to get the job done. I'm just not sure if it will work on the scratches...

Yes if the silver tail panels are available, let me know. They will come in 3 pieces. The rip off is done by shocker repairers. No it does not has any adverse effect, apart from dust and dirt being entering into the shocker pump over the time. No scratch remover will help if the scratch is deep. It is better to paint and go for the original stickers.
