My first love

Hi all, after waiting for years I got my first bike. I'm glad that it's a RX 100.
95 model, with all papers clear, complete stock, everything working fine including meters,break lights n blinkers .Oops it's not complete stock. It has two Bosch horns. I removed one.
All for 21.5K.

congrats man,,,but 21.5ktoo high.in chennai u can get rx100 inbetween 10-15k.actually one of ma friend got a rx100 for 10k, did sum mending for 5-6k and got it ready now.

Contrary to what people say, the going rates for running rx 100s are well above 20 k from kl-1 to kl-7 (I bought mine in april after quite a lot of searching so I know).
If the engine's good, the price is quite okay.

edit: I just checked the rto website. The bike was singly owned (lucky you) and was registered on MY birthday :P

21.5 K is a good deal here in Kerala. Asking price for my bike was 24k. And there was a RX100 in showroom condtion for 50K here at kollam, even the 2006 ZMA next to it costs only 48K. It's really hard to find a good RX100 under 20k.

I'm really happy with it's performance. Actually it's awesome. Touched 100 within no time (tested @ 2am today, @ NH47, had to slowdown because of poor visibility and wet road so not touched the top whack ). Acceleration is constant after 60kmph till 95kmph.

its hard find Original Escorts metres now a days...

Good to know that your teenage dream has come true - congrats.

You always owned the Shogun(Awesome maintenance there, still looks showroom condition) and still carved for the RX and you have one now.

I used to ride a cousins Rx for a while long ago and another had a Shogun. I felt that the Shogun outperformed the Rx in top speed and also in handling and braking too but nothing beats the simplicity of the Rx and it is almost maintenance free whereas the same cannot be said of the Shogun.

I am sure you make a lot of people jealous when you go out on either on them.

BTW I am from Hyderabad and still ride my 1994 KB100 which ofcourse was slower than the Rx and the Shogun but still handles a 100 times better than the Rx and the Shogun. My KB has done like 85K on the odo and except for the fuel guage everything else is working. She however needs a paint/chrome job.

Though the new crop of 4-stroke bikes are good, there is something missing in them compared to these fabulous 2-strokes that were once common.

As far as I know, parts for Rx aren't that much of a problem but then Shogun and KB are a different story. Have to search search and search for parts. But when you find it and have it working, nothing beats the satisfaction.

Eagerly waiting for the rains to get past and see your Rx rennovated. Congrats once again.

The meter is working fine. Since the analog meters have errors the actual speed that I'd touched might be around 95kmph.
