I got my hands real dirty this weekend...

      >> Painted the wheel hubs and engine head with AL paint.
      >> Spoked the new rims and gave her new tubes.
      >> Sanded the seat plate and painted
      >> New clutch assembly.

      Here's a pic..

Guys, cudnt work much on the bike this weekend. Now that the bike starts up easily, I removed the pedals and the secondary chain and bolted on that old speedo.

I took the bike out for a spin. My bro accompanied me on the victor. We decided to head towards the stretch of road we frequent for our nitro truggy run. The ride was smooth courtesy the new rims and suspension etc..

The speedo's needle maxed the calibration of the set 60kmph, I thought the speedo is going bonkers, it must be shot. When we stopped at the stretch, my bro gave an ear to ear grin and said 65kmph!!..... Man, no matter what the age of the speedo, it works flawlessly. Hats of to TVS(pricol). Then we did a couple of runs up and down the same road, the ppl there were watching me and between stops I could here some saying, "hey, XL alwa adu"

Some college kid got offended it seems, by the sound, so he stepped up with his RX and blasted past me as though saying "poda vennai, my bike is faster than yours". Well......what should I do..No comments.

I reckon the bike did at least 70kmph in today's exploits. For most of the guys here, 70kmph could be lame, but not for me on this bike ie.,

Next set of things to do is to get the XL super speedo(80kmph graduation) and the carb. Some pics for now :P

I couldnt resist crouching ...silly me (had my N95 stuck to the helmet to get a grab of the speedo actually )

For a bike which used to do 40kmph tops, 65-70 I feel is a good improvement. What say?

                            poda vennai
This is just the attitude an average guy(riding the RX or pulsar) has near my place, sadly. They think its some kind of a SBK until they see my R15 rip right thru them . Well, i have nothing against any one or any bike and I am not saying my bike is any where near to a SBK, if you know what I mean.

Definitely a great improvement buddy... we could smack that RX guy in the track with ur tuned XL...Watcha say???
Tuned isnt the word I would use for the current state of the bike.

The only thing new on the engine front is the bore kit. Thats it, no porting done, no 'tuned chamber' used, no changes to the carb, nothing. In fact the older bore which was on the bike was a last oversize(bigger than the current one on the bike) of the scooty and wasnt doing more than 50kmph and I spent 3k for that worthless upgrade, just the backstabbing these local mechs do is atrocious.

Beating an RX on the track is something I would love to, but that wouldn't be practical I guess.

That 65 or 70kmph (on a positive note ) is purely because of the scooty bore kit.

A vid of the run http://ishare.rediff.com/video/Enter...5%20%20/686993

                            Cheers!!

I know how u feel about the average pulsar/rx guy!!!!
used to ride a samurai capable of 100 plus speeds on a mildly ported cylinder and stock silencer .Have had a lot of encounters with wannabes.
one thing i have learnt from those days.never argue with these guys over top speeds .the instant reply would be...."Drag barthiya maga nodona!!"
