Hi Arun
Many congratulations on the wonderful new smashing avataar that you've given your RX. Its looks menacing man. I thought you'd be using the chamber from the other Rx but i looks like a completely different one. Cool

The chamber performs the way it looks, "MENACING"
Thanks to you big brother for providing all the help in sourcing and fitting that hell of a chamber. Yes i will surely take care before getting into such silly races but i actually wanted to check my bikes performance (after all the mods)Originally posted by yamdoot View PostThe fatty pipe's looking super sexy Arun and glad to hear it performs as good as it looks going by yesternight's race with a ZMA! be careful of the 'Pandu's' though..

Thats a beautiful bike uve got there Big Bore . one of the most tastefully done RXs ive seen in a long time. If u dont mind ive got a few questions
So ur running a 4 speed bore ( why?) with a 5 speed g/b ? Is ur bore ported? If so to what specs if u dont mind sharing ?
That chamber is superb value for money and good job on the mounting though i think the original mounting that it comes with would have worked well and probably looked better too . How does the power come in on ur motor with this pipe ? How is the initial torque and how late does the powerband hit ? Since u have an RPM meter can u tell us at what RPM she gets on the pipe and at what RPM it ends ? I find this pipe a little too noisy though . what do u think ? Also are u running an air filter ? and what size PWK is that ?
Also how much did u source the brand new engine cases for ? Any idea what are the going prices for second hand 5 speed cases are at Chor Bazaar ? Is the ABS off a TVS bike or is it an after parket part ? how much did it set u back ? Do u find a difference in ur braking ?
Other than an improvement in lighting what difference in speed do u find with the installation of the RDD CDI ? I also think u need u need to run better rubber something like IRC or Zapper on the rear btw is that an RD tyre ? Last but not least do u work on the bike yourself or is it done for you at a garage/ workshop ?
Great bike there , keep them alive and kicking .

Very nice upgrades there, some suggestions from my side
..
Get the timing fixed and jetting dialled in there after done u will experience only wheel spins on the rear
Give a coat of primer to the chamber, later get it high temp powdercoated black.
Get a good quality glasswool for the end can which are used in ovens.
I would suggest get the unis on instead of k & n,
Get some sticky rubber at rear and front irc is best.
Why is the rear right footrest missing ?? is it bcoz of the stinger coming upwards ??
Do keep us updated on the proceedings, once again good job

I am running on a 4 speed bore which is ported as per the 5 speed bore (Dont ask me for specs)
I am using the original gearbox of a 5 speed, wanted a 5 speed g/b instead of a 4 speed g/b as i normally like to cruise at ease on high speeds.
The chamber performs extremely well but is surely a bit too noisy. The initial torque is amazing and it hits the powerband at 4.5 and ends at 8.5.
Currently i am running on RC1100 & a PWK 30 which is giving me very good results. But planning to put the UNI filter and Mikuni TM28 Flatslide Smoothbore which i will be installing very soon.
I got the brand new RXZ 5 speed engine cases for Rs.5,000
I know thats a heavy price but since you know these parts are not available so easily
(Have another casing set as spare
)
The ABS is an after market commonly sold. The braking is much more precise and smoother compared to the stock pulsar braking.
The improvement in lighting is amazing and there is a slight increase in speed after installating of the RDD CDI. The engine is more crispy with less smoke and slight improvement also in mileage
I will surely keep the tyres in mind during my next rebuild and its not a RD tyre its a 2.75 x 18 MRF NYLOGRIP PLUS. Works extremely well in all conditions and have been using them for the last 14 years.
Yes i do get the major rebuild work done at my friends workshop else do the rest myself with the kind help of my very good friend "Yamdoot" who is a senior member of our forum.
Cheers!

I will surely keep them in mind! Could you throw some light on how to precisely time the RDD cdi as i have kept it on the fully clockwise position according to RDD manual provided. Since i do these kind of jobs on my own and without any access to timing light, magnet puller, etc i would like know how to precisely time the cdi by yourself at home
I have got a coating of clear coat on the chamber so that it doesnt rust.
I have already got a UNI and Mikuni TM28 Flatslide Smoothbore which i will be installing very soon.
Yes the rear right footrest is missing because of the stinger coming upwards.
Thanks arvindraju, i surely do have a blast on the highwaysOriginally posted by arvindraju View Postwell done bro !!! neat work on the chamber & ignition upgrade

Arun, Psycho is the right person to answer on the timings. However, I would try so that, will show how much of knowledge have gone inside me. (Psycho, correct me if wrong).Originally posted by BigBore View PostCould you throw some light on how to precisely time the RDD cdi as i have kept it on the fully clockwise position according to RDD manual provided.
With regards to timings adjustment, there is no precise position that would be predetermined when it comes to setting it up and it differs from bike to bike. There is always a small tweak + or - done on the timing to get the right spot. In other words, you will need to keep trying with different positions until you find the right sweet spot that your bike happily responds.
