Frame looks a tad dull Apart from that it's looking good

Let us know the jobs undertaken. What has been done with respect to engine & transmission? Anything overhauled/replaced? Are you keeping the 2T oil tank or doing away with it? Sorry too many questions

What parts were difficult to source? I thought RX100 parts are relatively easier to source in the RX series

Also, few more pics would be nice, especially of brake hubs, cylinder, cylinder head, etc

great going there mate!! i have spent nearly 30k sourcing all new parts for my RXZ 5 speed. and barring the speedometer worm, the brake master cylinder, i have nearly sourced everything!!!! barring the chassis, swingarm, front hub, disc and caliper. Yup, those are the only things which are from the old chassis, rest everything else is new. With a completely re built engine ( running first oversize).

watching your pics makes me wanna start putting up my worklog, but only once the bike is complete and i have ridden her once.

Yes I know the chassis turned out to be a bit dull, but thats because of lot of welding job done on the chassis, it was breaking into parts when we opened it full of rust I am pretty sure that if I would have continued driving a small bump could have made it boom.

the paint job I got is for a mere 1500/- which I guess is pretty cheap. so some compromise on quality also. you really don't have good painters here, all you can get is same quality for more price.

The engine is totally new as I got a new bore and piston kit from yamaha. also the complete clutch assembly has been changed. I am using the old gear assembly as it was in good shape.

Only two pics :-( It looks good. Seems like it's got good gloss Always liked black on automobiles.

What is that yellow pipe in the first picture?

I think getting rid of the stickering from side panel/shield/cover will make it look even better

Any particular reason for opting for buffing instead of painting the 'head'?

What are the spares you have replaced? If you are yet to replace front tyres, I suggest you stick to the stock 2.5. I did the mistake of putting 2.75

How is it running? Any issues w.r.t engine smoothness?

Good job done there, please do post some more pics. If possible, click some snaps in the night under a light ofcourse

The gloss came out real well, more than expected, you can see my reflection on the tank . Yes black is the choice, bike was blue when I purchased it

What is that yellow pipe in the first picture?

The yellow pipe is for the bottle from which we were feeding the baby temporarily till the tank came from paint

I liked that the panel was looking like its missing something so got it done.

Any particular reason for opting for buffing instead of painting the 'head'?

Buffing was my choice as the paint quality that came out on the parts was not satisfactory so went for buffing and in flesh it looks great and adds a bling factor

                    Parts that have been replaced:
                    1. Clutch assembly full
                    2. Complete silencer with bend pipe and all
                    3. Side panels
                    4. all nuts and bolts
                    5. all rubber
                    6. all bearings
                    7. all packings
                    8. both mudgaurds
                    9. leg gaurd
                    10. rear backrest
                    11. all footrests
                    12. both stands
                    13. Infact every thing you see has been replaced, except the gears.as they were changed last month.

The front and rear tyres are nearly new 2.5*18 and 3.0 *18 just changed them 2 months back.

How is it running? Any issues w.r.t engine smoothness?

The block is still the old block that came with the bike, as when I opened it we found that it was original block with STD piston, so we bored it to .25 and using it. Piston is original escorts. and the bike is super smooth.

I have also purchased the block kit from yamaha and Saving it for future.

Good job done there, please do post some more pics. If possible, click some snaps in the night under a light ofcourse

the reason for posting just 2 pics is that the pics were not doing any justice to the bike and how it looked may be due to my camera resolution. now that you have given the Idea to shoot at night I will give it a try.. Thanks
One issue that i am facing is overflowing carb the mech has changed the float still it happens sometime.

Good decison with the bore kit.

What went wrong with the clutch assembly?

Do you notice any difference in the exhaust note after replacing silencer? And you managed to source the bend Great!

Do get the chrome beading done to the seat. I am not aware of it's utility but the seat section looks incomplete without that. Just my thoughts.

                        Are you using it regularly?

The clutch was worn out totally, actually clutch was the origination of the rebuild, I was fedup of getting jugaad for the clutch so wanted a permanent solution, got out for clutch and ended up building the bike from scratch.

The exhaust note is is now what you call a meaty sound the old silencer was all rusted and the chrome quality you get here in Indore is super fcuk so decided to get a new silencer, the sound now is developing with every stroke as the bore and the silencer has no carbon its a bit metalish, but is gaining Meat every mile.

I am searching for it. cant find it, I know its a needed thing.

Are you using it regularly? Yes and will, for the next 2-3 years

                              Thanks Shivashu.

Guys i have a query, when I ride my bike in low rpm( i dont have a RPM meter so dont know the exact value but you can imagine 2500 rpm 4th gear speed of near 25 - 30 the bike sounds different like a tin tin sound. as soon as I increase the speed and take it above 45 the sound becomes normal like rx100.

what may be the issue here?

I am using more oil as of now as suggested by mechanic he has asked me to mix 40ml per liter as the engine is freshly bored, Is this standard practice. and does the increased oil level make my bike misfire when I suddenly increase speed, just near 60 KMPH.

Tin tin sound Difficult to imagine w/o actually listening to it. My guess is it maybe the chain. Have you gotten it tightened properly? Usually it is audible in low speeds or when throttle is closed (say coasting downhill).

3% 2T is recommended. Based on that 30ML is what you should be adding. However, there are lot of arguments regarding pre-mix and it's ratio. See if this is of any help to you. Dan's Motorcycle "2-Stroke Oil "
My take:- No harm in erring on the side of caution. Maxmium damage that can happen is a conked spark plug.

Just my guess though. There are many experts here, hope they solve your problem
