Good Work Timsy.. The bike has come out real good after the rebuild...
Congratulations? Are you running the fuel pump or Adding 2t in the tank directly? and what sprocketing are u running the bike on?

@ Nitin: Can u please elaborate on the ill effects of putting a 2.75 x 18 tyre in the front? I have the same spec tyre installed and would like to know what are the intricacies related with it...

    Thanks in advance...

No 'intricacies' just the obvious ones, drop in acceleration & F.E.

now that the rebuild is complete, i have somethings to share

i cant keep myself from revving her hard... is there a rev limiter available?

the headlight is toooooooo dim what to do?

my mech who was unknown, after my bike; is getting rebuild orders everyday as guys are approaching me to know where i got this bike done and the bike has become talk of the town. I am even getting calls from people to come and see my bike and i have been offered 40k in cash for the bike to which i refused politely.

the guy who sourced the spare parts Lalit my childhood friend ( owns 3 rx100 1 rx 135 1 rxz 5 speed owner of Yamaha & TVS showroom in bhopal) is flooded with oders of parts for RX100.

the FE of the bike is tooo low as of now just getting 25 KMPL, I hope that it will improve after runin. Also as I am using 50 ml premix oil I am getting a lot of smoke please guide me if this is fine or I should start using the oil pump ( my mech is totally against using the oil pump but I feel I should use it for proper oil supply as when using 50 ml premix oil at low rpm bike emits hell lot of smoke.

the best part is the attention the bike is getting Car owners at red lights have complemented my bike. I am really happy

She's looking beautiful dude. Consider yourself lucky to have got all the Yamaha parts. I'm suffering here in Chennai to get genuine parts.

timsy911 - not sure what would be the issue, I'm not able to see the pics that you have posted so far.

wish my imagination of the bike comes to reality when the pics were seen

                        Great Job !!!

It would be very helpful if you can share the details of each part replaced and price list.

                              Another RX100 restoration

Hey Timsy congrats on the successful and neat restoration. You did a great job on the bike. Sorry to bump into your thread but I was directed to use this thread by one of the moderators when I tried to start a new thread.

Well I recently got hold of a 1996 rx100 and I am in the process of restoring her to stock. I have started purchasing the oem spares (whatever is available and from which ever place). I have asked my friends to source some parts from other states. I stay in Orissa. Anyways I wanna do most of the restoration myself in my spare time since I have always been fascinated by mechanics. I have some basic idea about the working of engine (opened and fixed up a scooter engine and a tvs scooty engine). However, I am aware that my knowledge is greatly inadequate. Therefore, I'll be needing all of your help to successfully complete the restoration.

Here are some pics of the bike.

Moderator has only given a reference of this thread to help you. You can have your own rebuild thread. As far as two strokes are concerned, each bike can have its own thread

I think Bhubhaneshwar (excuse the spelling), Cuttack & Balasore have some RX OEM spares. Have you tried those places? Your fuel tank seems to be in a bad shape. Buy one at the earliest coz new lot of tanks won't come.

EDIT: My bad, I didn't know all rebuilds will be in one thread now. Imagine having half a dozen RX variants, yezdis, etc all in one thread!! Super logic, bring it on
