CDI?? You mean RDD CDI? I've one of them including the 90/100 & waiting to install. Reason being - scared, if I would blow those expensive gadgets. If you're reffering to the same, then, I would need some advice.

@Sandeep - Thanks; I'll take Yamdoot's suggestion. BTW, beautiful RXZ; I'm sure everyone envies you when you're on road. From a few years now, people will even start asking, is this modified Pulsar or Discover

    1. Well NO; its more than loose but not touching the swing arm now, in a weeks time, it will start touching the swing arm. I need to adjust this chain for every 1000 odd Kms, which is becoming a pain!!!

    2. I strongly suspect the 2nd one; How do I verify this as I'm not taking this to a mech & like to do it myself. I'm sure all the washer/bolts everything is intact as per manual.

3 - I don't think so; and that's exactly the reason I wanted to try with my existing 15 tooth sprocs.

Excellent pic there; I like the quote "When the Fail is so strong, one Facepalm is not enough". Lol

Ok, let me get to the fact as why I'm planning to change; I see a slight horizonatal movement on the chain & hear a slight "tuck" sound when the front sprocks completes one full circle. So I begin to feel there's something wrong with the sprocks as all other components inside are brand new & nothing to get worn out.

So I thought I'll change the existing sprock in the front as I've 2 of them for Rx100 & Rx135 5S.

Any suggestion on the above "tuck" sound pls?
Troubleshoot as per yamdoots suggestion. Its one of those things. Better start with the parts itself - where did you buy them ? Are they genuine ? In anycase check chain tension - neither too tight nor slack, and then check for sprocket issues.

Do you hear the sound if you rev up in say 3rd gear upto 60 and then back off the throttle and cruise down the road - do you hear a tick tick metallic sound ?

By the way here is my RXZ ..

Meanwhile, keeping the disc brakes setup aside, I'm planning to change the front sprockets to 15 tooth from the existing 16 tooth.

    Existing - 4S cylinder,head + 5 Gears + 16/34 sprockets
    Proposed - 4S cylinder,head + 5 Gears + 15/34 sprockets

Has anyone tried this? I'm assuming that the pick up will become a little sluggish, not sure to what extent. Hope with the new setup, it can still take the Yercaud, Yelagiri hills. And yes, it should give a good top speed isn't it?

Thanks for directing me to the parts catalog and I see that it has 7HS .
Only wonder if that was also given when bought the bike from the showroom

This makes the Owner's Manual futile and as a lay man for many years believed 8HS is the right plug for the bike. This also proves that one is a stupid to refer Owner's manual where there are other sources of information which contradicts with each other.

Keeping the basic information in mind from Owner's Manual seem to be very dangerous I suppose . You end up doing something other than recommended by various versions of right information. Well, if need be, might have do cross verification with all sources of information and discuss to arrive at a conclusion of what is correct. Jeez!

Though the owner's manual has become useless, however, still could not resist to attach to this post.

The reason I am not using that plug is that I can't be sure that its making any difference to performance or heating/cooling - it feels a bit different thats all.

But its worth a try - you know, just put in an original 8HS and see if you feel any difference ....
