  • Finally ported

    hey guys
Its been a long time i made a post here. Well guess the time has finally come. I have got the my ported set up for my rx135 5spd from Atul last week.

The plan was to get a RX big bore
    1. sent a 4th OS barrel to atul who put in a 60mm piston from RXK
    2. crank rebuilt with DT125 con rod
    3. RZ reed valve plonked in
    4. Port for better low end than stock and good top end.
    5. Jetting - using a 5spd carb with 17.5 pilots and 195 mains with clip in middle.

This is the first set up by atul in Hyderabad and will be used to showcase his work to anyone who wants to test a bike in Hyderabad before getting a set up for themselves from Atul.

The bike also has RDD CDI, RDD90/100 kit and UNI filter. It was having all these from the last 9 months and the bike used to do around 115-120kmph top speed.

I have got the entire set up put on the bike by my mech Javed. total cost was 2500/- including his labor etc.

I am really excited on how it will perform. I have huge expectations from this set up.

Day 1 - Take the bike from the mech and ride it to office. kept the bike under 40-50kmph.
Finished around 150kms till now. Bike feels OK tried pushed it to 90kmph once after the initial 100kms were over.
Its too early to say how the power delivery or how much faster it is than a stock bike but as of now it feels like stock.lets see once the run in is over.

Day 2 - finished another 50kms. so total 200kms done. was riding around the same 50kmph mark and pushed the bike to check top speed for around 400mtrs. The bike touched 105kmph. I will need to start playing around with the timing of the RDD cdi to see if it will make a difference in the way the bike is behaving.

    To be contd......

Thanks Yamdoot. Just a quick thought arent the bigbores 165cc and above? and with a 60mm piston and 50mm stroke we are at 150cc.

i believe Big Bore implies to any engine size with a large bore. Im running on 17.5 and 180 mains with 4s carb n uni type pod. but i think with the larger ports, it needs a bigger carb. m not getting a decent fuel efficiency too and Atul has promised to do something about it. as regards to the timing, its on stock but due to the head-mod it advances the timing a lil. are u using a reed spacer, an RZ manifold and a lightned crank ? m thinkin of the RDD kit too.

Im really glad you posted up jagadeesh The fact that the bottom end feels just like stock is enough reassurance for me that we haven't lost any power in low and midrange. (phew)

The overall setup is s 5 speed barrel with a slightly higher duration. She might be a lil slappy but that's how I prefer to keep the clearances. The noise should also subside a bit soon but wont go away totally. Do complete your 1200km run in well and she'll be good to go.

Do post a feedback post run in. Jets will be sent soon. A chamber will unleash the true potential of the setup, and so will a bigger carb. We will make chambers plans soon once u exploit the full potential of this on stock pipe.

A big thanks to you for having faith and a lot of patience. Happy miles to you. I will also recommend a few trick bits here and there. Do post up pics of your ride.

                        Cheers

Going out tonight to do some more run in on the open stretch to the airport. Need to finish the run in fast to check her true potential.
will do small 5km runs at 40-50kmph give it some rest for 5 min and start again. target to complete atleast 100kms tonight already finished 25kms on the way to office.

small update - Moved back to stock CDI and stock timing to check how the bike performs. this was based on a friends suggestion as i am running stock pilots and he said it might be lean on the RDD CDI.
the bike was getting hot on the way to office tht might be because of the traffic [ it was a little too much today] will test again in the night and report back/
