    @All
CDIs are simple devices used to generate a spark at a preset time in the combustion chamber through a spark plug....There are two types ie., a CDI with auto/switched advance, or without any advance..(static).The advancing of spark is validated by the shorter time allowed for each spark event,as the RPM rises.
Yamaha RX100 comes OE with static 22 degrees BTDC, and an auto advance/retard will improve performance and FE.
So it is essential to understand the basics of Ignition and what it CAN and CANNOT DO under the circumstances, before embarking on any changeover /DIY attempt.
Those with knowledge ,RPM and Timing lights ,and the SPIRIT can develop and install a CDI for a two stroker....As a starter I am giving here a CDI circuit for a Stock Yamaha 125cc......

The Great, my suggestion is not to discuss your issue in this manner. It amounts to cross-posting between the forums, people will reply to your post without knowing the context, and this CDI topic itself results in unnecessary & unwanted arguments between forum members.

In response to your questions you have posted here. There is several years worth of discussion and information on the correct forum. Please discuss your issue in the correct forum only.
I have posted it in the correct forum about "my issue" on that forum itself.

Please go through my above post and try to understand i am trying to convey the issue of "availability" rather than discussing the CDI.

I am not here to criticize or discuss what or how the CDI works or weather it is dynamic or static or weather its a magic box or what wirings are necessary with what plug caps.

Since this thread was related to RDD CDI, i posted a simple question to all and by all means not at all cross posting my query.

By this i believe u mean to say for example if a proton chamber query is posted here then it becomes a cross posting as proton chamber has a seperate forum ???

But since this is an open forum everything related to 2T can be discussed here provided we have some decent people discussing on something. The funny part is, people here who create a scene on this particular CDI and call it names themselves cant tell you the difference between a static and a dynamic CDI !!

So you are right. Theres no point in discussing this CDI here.
@The great. This post or my earlier one is in no way directed towards you in particular so dont take it otherwise pls.

                              1. Bike did not start until some kicks given (3-4), which I thought stock CDI would just require 1-2 (max) kicks to roar. I'm currently using NGK 'R' plug on my bike. Is this the correct?

                              2. When I turn off the engine, there is a slight delay when the engine stops. Is this ok?
Pardon me for bumping up an old thread. These are the exact two issues I faced on Saturday while I rode back home with the CDI installed. Is this issue resolved now? If yes, what was the solution for this?

All I could remember is the timing was incorrect. After some trial and error method of changing position (since there was no access to timing light device) was able to get the bike started max 2 second kick. Mind you, the bike's choke cable is long gone.
Another way: I found my own way to get the bike started (though seniors can pitch in). I always try kick starting with kicker positioned at the top. If it doesn't then moved the bike a step to get the kicker compression from top and let go to start.

FYI.. Bike all of a sudden stalled on Saturday night on my way home from shopping. Checked the plug and there was no current passing. So did not experiment much on middle of the road, pushed the bike home (1 km) and parked it with other 2. Sunday had gone for the weekend ride(ZMA) and I'm yet to check as what went wrong. I'm confident that engine did not get ceased ( I'm careful with the bike) as there was good compression when tried to kick. I suspect some loose connection somewhere(God make it real) as I don't want to be on the state where RDD CDI blowing away (silly thoughts)!
