    Should I?

@ Bigbore, Yamdoot and other informed member,

Along with the restoration plans of my buddies bike, I too am contemplating going for a Shogun . I had considered the RX 135 , but I have always had a soft spot for the Shogun have longed for one for years now. This brings me to the question.

Should I buy a one and will I be able to restore it with the current dearth of parts, this is my primary concern and don't want to get stuck with a un-restorable or expensive to restore bike. What is the budget I would need( I know this depends on the bike I start out with), approximate figure would do. Also how much would a decently used Shogun cost, I did check out one, but had walked away as the bike was modded for motocross. I am currently in Pune, how much would it cost me to transfer(Registration and tax..etc) a bike bought here back to Karnataka or buying it in Karnataka makes more sense.

Any gyan on the above will be a lot of help.

    Regards,

    Kiran

    Appreciate your help on this!!

    Kiran
You are most welcome Kiran. I will surely find out the price of the cylinder kit and let you know.

Could anyone post the price range at which brand new Cylinder kits are being sold. Also does anyone has had an Re sleeve done and would they recommend if a new bore is not available.

    Thanks in advance.

Do the new sleeves come with ports or do we have to machine the ports ourselves.

Sleeves can work as good as a new bore, It's ok to go for a sleeve job ONLY if the machine shop guy can run it down proper clearances and can guarantee zero ovality of the sleeve. Also ports on the sleeve should match perfectly with the ones on the bore, otherwise it won't work. Ovality is the biggest issue with a sleeve also if it is not blueprinted properly it can lead to heat transfer issues.
